Bye Bye MAN hello Scania

Well I’m in my last 3 days of driving a MAN for some time :frowning: as from next week I will be driving a 2016 Scania G plodder spec in my new job :open_mouth:
Any tips and hints on driving a Scania apart from thinking in King of the road :sunglasses:

Rip out the speed limiter to convert it must make ferry mode and fit some bull bars and velvet curtains are a must have too .

Paint…

The words ‘3 steps to heaven’ on the passenger door.

There you go, you can also be a fantasy mile muncher as well all from the comfort of your armchair

Hide in shame behind the curtains, as seems to be the norm

Rob ! I can’t work under the yellow mob any longer :imp: and AFS does not exist any more it’s just another part of the Terris empire :unamused: over seen by a Sheep herder

For the ultimate King of the road look , fit Peekaboo cab curtains as you can’t see out safely and have to stop at every junction and roundabout even though there is no oncoming traffic, just to check you can pull of safely.
Regardless of engine size , put on Scania V 8 road train stickers or signs ofsilver lady rocking metal tat .
Dealer boots are so last year and checked shirts for the Irish international globe trotter image .

“Swedish Perfection” decal in swirly lettering somewhere.

Also “Vabis” light board.

Don’t forget the SUPER badge for the grille and if it’s manual box, make sure to use every split even when you’re running bobtail and blip the throttle in between each gear change. It’s the law.

You’ll need a bomber jacket with “SCANIA” across the back.

Probably ex one of ours. They are perfectly adequate for day work and the very occasional get stuck and need a night out. I used to sleep very soundly for an hour or so in ours, night out if stuck but wouldn’t want to tramp in one. Very little storage. Crappy radio but an aux socket on the front, get yourself a bluetooth that plugs in to the aux so you can charge phone while listening to internet radio or spotify. Something like this gives you hands free calls too. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Babacom-Bluetooth-Cancelling-Headphones-Hands-free-Black/dp/B08L7ZC21T/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2MT1RCXHJOWME&dchild=1&keywords=bluetooth+aux+adapter+car&qid=1626292492&sprefix=bluetooth+aux%2Caps%2C192&sr=8-4
