My company has agreed to stump for decent work boots for me as their cheap bog standard issue boots are doing bad things to my feet. I have plantar fasciitis which is a tendon problem and gives you heel pain. I need some steel toecap boots with good arch support, around £60:00 but I could push that a bit. Any suggestions folks? Ta.
Hi Andy
Got my last pair from Wickes paid £50 “■■■■■■■■■” full boots plenty of ankle and foot support,as comfy as my walking boots and paid £200 for those might be worth a peek.
Jeff.
Have a look at the V12 range around that price i bought the V12 riggers and they are every bit as good as they claim ! best boots i have ever owned
They cost a bit more, but from the first time your feet slip in and you feel how light they are you will not wear a more comfortable boot than DeWalt Challenger 2, guaranteed.
I’ve taken on board several suggestions from here
Scruffs, might as well wear the boxes they came in, after about 6 wears they are now relegated to gardening boots only.
V2 or whatever they’re called, reasonably comfortable but within a short time they leak water in, and despite regular polishing the leather upper is cracking up, now the sole is starting to part from the upper.
I’m going back to Challengers again.
I have Trojan gore tex walker boots, expensive but comfy:)

Would also recommend the dewalt challenger 2, I use them with my orthotic insoles for my over pronating feet.

Same here. The soles are worn flat, the metal sole protectors are rattling round inside and the stitching’s coming undone at the top, all after less than a year (my Caterpillars lasted nearer ten). But aren’t they Wickes’s own?
would you like advice on underwear garments or maybe some ■■■■■■ aids ? or is it just boots your into ?

Totally agree with what’s been said about scruffs, had some twister 2 boots. They were really good for 2 months then they just fell apart! Got some dewalt boots on a recommendation and will never change now i think screwfix have them on offer atm

I switched to asics “gel kayano’s” and solved that issue
My work supply Cat Dimens, really comfy boot, didn’t take any breaking in. Quite light for a safety boot too which is good when you’re running about like a ■■■, like me.
