I have not been into Holme Hall for 9 years now but back then it was quite a distance from the weighbridge to the stock heaps, depending on what material you were loading. There was a traffic light system on some of the roadways, no cameras on them though…! Remember delivering to Rawsons as well, are they still operating I wonder?
Pete.

I used to call in if I was in the area when I drove for Gough Transport Limited from Matlock/Wirksworth. Never did much from there but they usually found you something even if it was just a local into Sheffield or Donny. Bolsover Moor quarry was another port of call if they were busy, but they could send you to Boston at three o clock so you had to be wary!!
Pete.

I remember seeing Butlers in the old red colour Paul, could see the yard plain as day from MFS next door.Coming off nights I well remember seeing clouds of Gardner/Leyland/AEC smoke when drivers were firing up about 6 in a morning in winter. Happy days.
John taylor told me two of these aec mercurys ran solely on providing stone for wc french concrete plant at hellaby when m18 was being built.
