Busy Mr Trump

Trump talking openly about annexation of Greenland.

Busy Trump Family.

Multiple reports from many sources including the Wall Street Journal saying the Trump family have been in talks with Binance felon Changpeng Zhao to buy some or all of his interests.
At the same time CZ, is appealing to Pres Trump for a pardon.

Conflict of interest? Surely not!

@Franglais
I think we finally get the message,.Trump.aint entirely a paragon of virtue,.Mr Clean.straight down the middle, or any other expression you can think of…got it,:+1: so a succesful campaign, job sorted.
Your work here is done.
(I doubt that very much btw ) :joy:

(Another) Newsflash…
None of these guys are …they are politicians, it is just that some of them are better at hiding it than others…but we have been here before, I m getting a distinct feeling of deja vu so whats the point of carrying on with that one…(again.)

Now I know it is all ‘jolly good fun’ endlessly trawling the internet over a coffee to find numerous examples to prove the above points, and hammer them home…but how far are you going with it?
How many more can you find?
What is the actual point?

As far as I for one am concerned who is both having a laugh at you (admittedly) , and playing devils advocate at the same time, you have certainly convinced me…yep !
But thing is, despite my defensive posts, I knew all this already.
I’m a non naive and totally cynical realist who does not look at the world with ‘Alice in Wonderland rosy specs’ where everyone is taken at face value and is honest and honourable as they attempt to put across and the sun shines all day in a ptetty world.

That said and the point I am trying to make here is this.
Do you not think we should concentrating fully and be more worried about the possible implications of all this for us here…the British.

On one hand we have Starmer in an attempt to come across as Maggie Thatch and Arnie Schwarzeneger to gain some credibility at last (fat chance) …gobbing off about ‘boots on the ground’ whilst Putin the worlds craziest bloke ever saying he will not accept NATO troops in Ukraine, therefore putting these troops in needles danger.
Is the better option not to let Trump go for this?
See how it goes…give it a chance hoping he aint as daft as he looks snd has an ace up his sleeve.

Personally I dont gaf about Ukraine if the only other choice is our soldiers coming home in body bags.
We have clowns on here actually advocating or implying to attack Russia ffs, …with depleted forces, or a combined European force…yeah, brilliant idea.

This time last year there were thousands of people being kilked, this year there is light at the end of a tunnel.
I get the how long will it last thing,.Putin unpredictable, etc etc but that is how treaties work, wars can re.start anytime.

Call it appeasement if you like, I do not peronally see it that way…and dont bother latching on to or concentrating on that statement alone, we could argue all week, and I yep you guessed it ‘can not be arsed’ it is pointless.

So either take on board what I have mentioned or carry on looking for examples of how much Trump is..a clown, dishonest, dangerous, inept,.self serving,.greedy, idiotic, incompetent, etc etc etc , but I reckon you have covered it quite well alteady…we all get it.
There are more important and different ways to look at this.

That was Rob in sensible grown up mode for a change.
I thank you all .:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

That no politician is perfect is a truism, but leads nowhere.

The point is not that “Trump is just the same but less good at hiding it”
The point is he is in another league altogether.

You are just regurgitating the spin given out by his supporters “they are all the same”.
No one can deny the evidence about him, so they just shout about all being the same.
It was exactly the same, but maybe on a smaller scale, with Johnson. He made cockup after cockup, and was repeatedly shown to be a charlatan and cheat, but because the plain as daylight evidence could not be swept under the carpet by the media, the tactic was to instead smear others. It didn’t matter if those smears were later shown to be wrong; the headlines had been mad, doubt planted and just letting it fizzle out left the lies in the collective memory.

Saying Trump is not perfect is like saying that Gerald Ratner wasn’t a good salesman, or that Adolf Hitler wasn’t religiously tolerant.

Clearly, you still do not “get it”.

It isn’t that he is a human mostly OK, but with failings.
It is that he is a thoroughly nasty human, with almost no good point at all.

I don’t like the idea of pushing Putain, but I like the idea of letting him overrun Ukraine even less.

There are no good options.

This is a crappy situation, and all we can hope is that things work out not too badly.
Hopefully by cutting even more economic ties with Russia they can have their teeth pulled.
But if they are allowed in Ukraine, where they have already been cited for many war crimes, will they stop there?
No. Of course not!
To wish for that is simply being unrealistic.
Just look at Putain’s track record. It would be lovely but it ain’t gonna happen.

The Ukrainian people have decided to fight and some of them will die because they think that is better than living under the heel of Putain.
You don’t gaf about that? Well that is your choice.
If you accept that it is OK for their kids to be abducted and taken to Russia for “education”, for Ukranain uniformed soldiers if captured be treated as “foreign terrorists” then fine, you ignore the plight of Ukraine.

I think you are morally wrong, and I am also glad that a short sighted person such as yourself is not in any position of power in the UK.
Wishy-washy “let’s cross our fingers and hope everything works out” is beyond childish.

People going back and forth mainly about Trump, which is fine obviously on a Trump thread.

But let’s take a second to realise how much of a bullet the whole WORLD dodged with Kamala.

Can you imagine if she actually won? You think Biden was terrible, Kamala is Biden x10. She is a trained Marxist that is more radical than Biden.

Would you have complete confidence in ‘Word-salad Kamala’ to negotiate with Putin, Hamas or Iran? She’d be eaten alive. She’d have to have an earpiece in during negotiations to have someone tell her what to say.

“What can be, unburdened by what has been.” Dumb cow.

WW3 would have been a certainty, the U.S economy would have gone into a depression, taxes would have been raised across the board, hundreds of billions of dollars would have continued to flow into Ukraine (i.e money laundered), the Israel & Hamas conflict would be getting worse, China would have taken over Taiwan, there’d be no DOGE to investigate where taxpayer money is going, DEI policies would have spiralled out of control, the borders would be completely gone, the list is endless.

The reason Trump got voted back in is because the voters that had common sense saw that the country was heading this way with Biden, and they’ve had enough enough of the woke BS.

:joy::joy:
Yeah because I really CARE what YOU think,.and more so what you think about ME.:joy:

OK loud and clear, no point trying to reason with you, set in your ways as usual.

I admire your rousing speech , comparisons,.and analogies btw,.all very gung ho…but I wonder if you would be so aggresive and keen on the only alternative…a fight, if YOU were of the age…judging by your pacifism and your past performances in pseudo bravery on here in the past
.I think I can safely say…no.

Love the way you accuse ME of falling for rhetoric and propaganda, …and from you of all people :joy:
How well you know me…Not.

Anyway I’ll leave you to rake up more muck on Trump Johnson et all for effect,.I will remind you of this when the first body of a Btit serviceman is shipped home.
Sorry to waste (my) time on you…I should know better

No…let’s not.

Harris is not POTUS so she is irrelevant.

And all this post is just another example of “Trump is only the same as the rest of them”

Even Trump says that is now possible. When he took over the reins the US was doing quite OK. It isn’t now.

So how is that going?
Trump is talking about genocide. But not about stopping it.
( noun
the deliberate and systematic killing or persecution of a large number of people from a particular national or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group)

They didn’t did they? Not yet.
But if they see Russia getting away with territorial gains then why would they be put off by Trump?

And what of N Korea?
Again the US is the backstop there. If Trump is seen as a soft touch what there?

An unelected person, taking overall command of investigating Gov spending?
The same person who benefits hugely from Gov spending?
What sort of genius idea is that meant to be?
Sack thousands of investigators. Looks to me like that is an excellent way to hide the corruption not find it.

:joy::joy:
The master has spoken..
We’ve had Hitler, (not to mention Gerald Ratner.) now folks we have ‘Genocide’…yep. :joy:

This thread is on another level, I thought the old covid thread could not be beaten for humour and getting carried away.

Yep.
And the reaction you give is the reason I put in a definition of the term.

If you think that suggesting removing a whole group of people, from their homeland is not persecution, then you are just plain wrong.

LOL Gotta love the Swiss peeps.

Yeah course it was mate…as opposed to a ott drama queen moment.
And look.
the obligatory thumbs up from the guy who prefers a world recession.:joy:

I have told you exactly what I think, I think a truce with peace for as long as it lasts in a delicate scenario lasting ..1year 10 years, somewhere between?..is better than Zelensky (from his pov) facing a total Russian takeover and occupation, possiblly execution now that the US is not willing to fund him any longer.
Or worse…British troops getting involved and killed to make Starmer look forthright and competent.

Would you be of the same opinions if it was Johnson leadng us kicking and screaming into potential and very likely total war?
I think we ALL know thr answer to that one

A US expert on the Whitehouse (a real one this time not a wannabe pretend one) said Biden gave (too much) money and the arms to continue the war, but not the type of weaponry to win it…he knew exactly what he was doing…and enough was enough in terms of cost to the US.
He also said any interference by NATO troops, could be catastrophic…
I’m listening to him instead of you.

Got to say btw…It’s ironic and bizzare that a usually ‘go with the official flow’ lefty with the pacifist all is well type attitude that goes with it, is ‘giving it large’ and virtually war mongering, to me …a guy who is usually up for anything and will defend himself against anything if back to wall.

And then calls me…

How bizzare.:joy:

A year’s pause? While Russia takes on board the lessons of it’s failed lightning invasion of Ukraine and re-arms.

There is no doubt that Zelensky is on Putain’s little list. I doubt that he is is putting his own life above that of his country, if he was he would have caved in or butted out long ago.

The point is that a strong united response to Putain now might head off that total war later.
Just a pity that the US under Trump are not standing firm against the aggressor.

Which expert was that? One of the ex Fox TV anchors?

To become a head of department in the Whitehouse all you have to do is say what Trump wants to hear. It is no guarantee of expertise.

How about what MI5 and MI6 are saying? Rather than the Trump biased nonsense. How about those who do know and speak for the UK.

A possibility yes, on the other hand the test of Europe especially us.would have a chance to get our act together…

Or kick off war now.

Yep your go to response rubbish the source when the opinion differs from the official narrative or your opinion…in your case always both the same thing.

Yeah you are so much more the expert…I forgot.

Love to know what he’s going to do if no ceasefire, O wait its tariffs and a dose of will i won’t i

@realDonaldTrump

Crooked Joe Biden got us into a real “mess” with Russia (and EVERYTHING ELSE!), but I’m going to get us out. Millions of people are needlessly dead, never to be seen again…and there will be many more to follow if we don’t get the Cease Fire and Final Agreement with Russia completed and signed. There would have been NO WAR if I were President. It just, 100%, would not have happened. Likewise, there would have been no October 7th with Israel, the pullout from Afghanistan would have been done with strength and pride, and would not have been the most embarrassing day in the history of our Country, it could have been a moment of glory. Also, there would not have been any perceptible inflation - Instead we had Record Setting, Country Destroying Inflation, like we have never seen before. Also, we would have had an impenetrable Border, with very few illegals getting in. Oh, what a difference A RIGGED & CROOKED ELECTION HAD ON OUR COUNTRY, AND THE PEOPLE WHO DID THIS TO US SHOULD GO TO JAIL! GOD BLESS AMERICA AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Go on then.. Who was it?
Maybe it was a genius with an excellent track record of international affairs, so tell us.
But look at who he has as defence secretary and then tell me he is an expert.

Do always rubbish your sources?
Well choose some good ones!

If you think they are good defend them! Don’t just whinge that I am showing your sources for what they are.

Come on then…Rubbish the views of MI5v and MI6 ?
Or accept that they are better sources, and make more sense, than a Trump sycophant.

I know Trump’s cousin.
He sits in the corner of the pub and keeps saying
“If I was charge, England would have won the world cup”
etc etc “Everyone is against me” etc etc

But no one in the pub is stupid enough to believe him.

You’ve converted me.
Franglais aint a patronising codescending know it all tool…I take it back.
He’s the man. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Sod listening to the news and watching tv and forming my own opinion.
Franglais is the way forward.

I look forward to your next synopsis and analysis of the next political situation.
And no, of course I aint being serious.:joy:

Btw I have already told you I did not physically nor mentally take a note of the guy’s field of expertise, but if you say he must have been a shyster…
Thats good enough for me man.

Yep I agree mate.
The world is best rid of these types,.they are a cancer to modern society.

Somebody said the other day…
Why was GB once a proud respected and feared nation with an empire of it’s own?

Answer…Because there were no lefties around at that time.:joy:

And that must be why the USSR, a communist state, never had a strong military, and never occupied nor subdued any other states.
Because being left wing, they were all pacifists.

I also suggest anyone with a few minutes to spare ask Mr Google (or whomever you prefer) about “Trump vs common sense” some really interesting articles from many different perspectives are out there.
Many explain how “common sense” is used to disqualify experts, facts, and actually thinking, rather than merely, feeling or having a hunch about something.
Here is one of the articles I found partly about Hegseth and more generally about the way “common sense” is misused. How populist leaders like Trump use ‘common sense’ as an ideological weapon to undermine facts
