Anyway, it is confirmed, tariffs are working, even the Pope is made in America now.
The Indian deal is said to increase the UK economy a bit so is good. It seems to come at little cost financial or otherwise to the UK.
How big is the deal with the US? Has anyone said yet?
At what costs?
When we know what the details are we can see how good it is. And the details are still being discussed.
But how much better off are we than we were Trump started his before round of tariffs?
Are we better off?
Or are we claiming a huge victory because he took away £100 and gave us back £90 or £110?
And to be clear independent analysts have looked at the UK India and estimated the effects, it is not just the Govs saying it is great.
Riiiight. This coming from someone who undoubtedly nods sagely in agreement at statements such as “these temporary measures are in place for your security “, or my personal favourite “you have nothing to worry about if you’re doing nothing wrong”.
Where did I say I was pleased? Although I suspect you only asked that question as it gives you another excuse to dig at the Tories.
The deal may end up being good, it may end up being bad. I have no insider knowledge and my day to day life will carry on unaffected as it is now. But the fact is Brexit was mentioned as a reason for this deal being done and that sticks in your throat because you cant bear the fact anything good “could” come from it.
@robroy mentioned Brexit and you commented on it.
So how is it relevant here?
Are you saying that all the Brexit losses are going to melt away because of this deal?
Why did you think it wrong that Brexit was being “100% ignored”?
Well actually Trump and the US administration mentioned Brexit so it’s relevant from that context.
As for the rest of your question, see my response above.
are these the same analysts that say labour are in the lead… that support putting the stamp up and say we need 100’s of thousands of immigrant labour and we shouldnt produce anything ourselves. no wonder they think its good.
meanwhile in reality loss of jobs massive unemployment etc is bad news for anyone with a brain cell. allowing god knows how many indians in(plus their families) on a free for all where they dont contribute anything to the system is bad news especially when the native workforce that does contribute heavily is being laid off.
the date is the 9th of may primark a main source for clothes made in india are selling standard denim jeans for 14 pounds. lets see how much they are next month or in 2 months time or even 6 months time. i bet they wont be any cheaper dispite sir screw over saying clothing will be cheaper. And we can compair the amount of indians that have come over and jobs lost as well if you promise to except that 5 is bigger than 4
Your stupidity and lack of comprehension is starting to overshadow your obtusiveness.
Where tf and wtf am I cheering???
I was pointing out the lack of posts on a Trump thread from you whingers that COULD be considered positive, in direct contrast to the avalanche of posts if antyhing is considered negative..
Ffs it’s like pulling teeth man
It is you using the word positive. You suggesting that a positive deal was not being discussed.
Well what was/is positive?
Why post about something unknown?
Looking at it to-day it appears that some or most of the crap thrown our way by Trump has been taken back.
Our “great new deal” looks largely to be what we had with Biden. No big differences I can see.
Tell me what there is to post about? Anyway, it’ll probably all change next week or month.
Which part of ‘‘It may well be a crock of sh, it may well be good, it may be somewhere in between’’ do you not get…or refuse to take in for effect.
Which part of ''I only posted it because of the lack of posts on something that could be considered positive, after the rush to post anything negative ’ do you not get…or refuse to take in for effect.
(Both paraphrased)
YOUR words NOBODY else’s on here.
I also used the words 'COULD be considered ''before it …which you conveniently left out to make a whole new meaning.
Something relavant about TRUMP on a TRUMP thread…you aint usually backwards at coming forwards and having to ask.
You’ll be asking us what to post on the 'kin Brexit thread next.
As I KEEP telling you..
You are a joke
Is your first post on this issue.
No mention there that the deal is anything but positive. Just an accusation that positive news is being ignored because it is positive.
In fact not much about the deal at all. Just a bit more moaning about other posters on the thread.
I repeat…you are a joke.
Interpret it as you choose,.I have explained this as far as I am prepared to.
What is the point …put it down to one of your important little victories if you like.
Being a complete smart arse is not an endearing trait.
Nah..just YOU specifically.
It’s pointless. In an alternate universe where the Tories are still in power there’s an alternate Franglais pissing and bleating that this is a terrible deal and the Tories should be ashamed of themselves.
bleedin heck, have we finally agreed on something at last.
I imagine a lot of beef and cereal farmers will be worrying right now as to the small print that charmless harmer has signed. I read yonks back about the state of the pig industry (watch it now boys) in the US. Big business has sytestamically either bought out farms, else bought out the farm suppliers i.e. feeds, slaughter houses, distribution networks etc. As a result farmers have had to kowtow to big business in buying from them, and selling the pigs to them. They’re “encouraged” to expand their farms breeding more and more pigs resulting not only overcrowding but serious problems with disposing of the waste i.e. the pig ■■■■. But the big business controlling the start and finish lines, slice more profit off leaving the farmers in debt and desperate.
The serious overcrowding results in more disease, so they must use antibiotics, which also boost meat production.

Starmer’s take on this deal, true opinion or hype?
Mixed feelings,…not fully convinced.
Like I said I would love it for our country if it will do us good, but as soon as I see Starmer alarm bells ring, the same guy 2 weeks ago was as enthusiastic about a 'kin amusement park…that was going to be the saviour of the UK.
Still…what do I know eh?
Best leave the opinions and the analysis to the experts, like the high flying business men, the economists, the financial whizz kids…and Franglais for their authoriative opinions.
not really a trade deal, IMO more a UK-US tariff deal.
Starmer pleasing Trump.. making him feel good, like when he gave him a letter from HRH.
