Busy Mr Trump

A bit like how ‘they’ change, ignore (or both) what ‘they’ consider awkward or uncomfortable history in our curriculum over here, when it does not subscribe to lefty idealism …yeah indoctrination, I get it.
Terrible init.

yeah, just sprinted here sweating buckets after reading about trump’s latest fantastic business idea. Closing down thousands of US movie theatres and possibly a few film related businesses that supply to the film giants too. Putting the usual response He’s insane aside I’m thinking his nurse is feeding him all these ideas that will take prime spot on the news, so he can slip in a few seriously despotic moves in barely noticed. Bury terrible news amongst the torrent of bad ideas.

It certainly will benefit the techbros. Bricks and mortar movie theatres have suffered over the last 2 decades, with improving home entertainment systems. Getting pizza and coke delivered to your home is cheaper than buying it at the theatre. You have your own seat, toilets (of the gender of your choosing) 4 steps away. And no uber home required after.
Streaming services will be laughing because even if the tariffs do get spread around and hit them, it will be a modest hit compared to their sales revenue.

That’s the thing about these crackpot ideas that are coming out. It’s as if they have a vote in the cabinet room and no-one is prepared to put their hands up and question it. If you presented this at a board meeting you’d be howled down. Surely even Trump can see the damage this will do to their homeland cinema’s.

Now, let me stop you right there…

I defeated my own argument there, didn’t I.

But seriously, in any business plan you have a list of pro’s and con’s. Their con’s must be written in invisible ink.

Anything that goes against the Beijing narrative is ‘conspiracy theory’.
More votes than electorate and electronic votes traced from China, in important swing locations, is fact not theory.

The irony towns with multiple cinemas, that showed Hollywood made blockbusters in the day, now with none.

Ironically like a return to the days when American made Levis were available in the shops at a viable price.
As opposed to made by slave labour in sweatshop economies and sold dearer in real terms at massive profits for retailers.
Those ‘yanks’ didn’t seem such a problem to you under the pro China Biden and Obama regimes.

Careful all you Americans who dare to speak against your supreme leader. He’s actually listening to his legal team who told him he can’t keep sending US citizens to foreign gulags, so he’s gonna create a new shiny bright big awesome one specially for the dissenters

eh what. Talk about reversing reality. The only ones who are been repeatedly fooled by Chinese Russian and Trumpian fake narrative are the Trumpian supporters there and abroad…

Fact? No sensible person can possibly believe anything trump says now, he’s been proven to be lying so many times, if he spoke the truth we’d faint in surprise.

Mao had a Little Red Book of his thoughts.
Trump has a massive great book and as you say written in invisible ink.

And the con (a nod to Francophones) is sat in the Oval Office.

I have a little francophone. it is red and all it does (well) is make and receive phone calls and text messages. I have a camera for photos and a computer for avoiding idiots.

Yep the parralells to this country and the US continue…with bizzarelly not nearly as much criticism from the ‘p4nty wetters’.
So don’t be giving Starmer any ideas for dealing with his 'far right.

Perhaps we could re-purpose these

Think you’re on to something there mate.
A much more suitable alternative for the ‘‘irregulars in their (4star) hostels’’.
Keeps them off our streets, cuts down on crime, far cheaper, and it may even put them off risking their lives for the vast incentive…
What’s not to like? :joy:

As my little girl says…‘Winner winner chicken dinner’'.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I can see the slogans now. Instead of “Stop The Boats” we can have “Divert The Boats”

Ooh I like that! This idea has legs; how about diverting them to the Arctic circle?

A lot may even say ‘‘Sink the boats’’..but we won’t go there.
I don’t want to be responsible for any coronarys on here by any delicate snowflakes..:joy:

As I have said countless times mate, people coming here for safety from a war torn country like Ukraine, not a problem.
Then back in history such as Asians fleeing Amin in the 70s from Uganda…all of whom integrated into society.
Then further back the Jews fleeing Nazi tyranny in the 30s and 40s…genuine refugees all welcone as far as I am concerned, …

But an absolute rapid and continuous surge of young fit blokes of an alien middle aged culture, totally at odds with ours, (or an invasion by stealth) with all the sh.storm of crime, r4pe and general harrasment and trouble that brings, and has brought…
And soley only to wallow in luxury at the expense of the indigenous populatiion, then settle here for NO legitimate reason, you can kinda see the point of the gunboat option favoured by the more radical.

I aint got that far myself YET, even though it is my no.1 pet hate, (the no.2 being the govts apathy and inertia towards it)…but there ya go

You missed an obvious pun there. You could have said that it had “sea legs”.

Thank you very much, you’ve been a wonderful audience. I’m here until Friday, try the fish.

I can see some “illegals” making a job out of this. I wonder if frequent flyer air miles are included.

The Trump administration is offering a cash stipend and travel home to undocumented immigrants who willingly leave the United States, officials said on Monday, its latest effort to increase deportations.

The policy, which will offer $1,000 and a flight home to each immigrant who leaves, is part of the Trump administration’s push to persuade immigrants to deport themselves as a way to help the president meet lofty immigration promises. Already, officials said, one migrant from Honduras has taken the government up on the offer and flown from Chicago back to his home country
