Why should the likes off Stagecoach and First bus who makes hundreds of millions in profits be allowed to claim fuel rebates as essential users, this is getting beyond a joke with this new labour goverment. Road haulage is just as essential.
I think a lot of people don’t know about this rebate for local bus route operators willie.
I know it exists but i don’t know the details. Is it the same as running on red in that they put white DERV in the tank but claim the duty back making it the same price as red?

If uk hauliers get a rebate of 41% like the coach opperators then the big companies like stobbart etc will just ■■■■ it up again by reducing rates to get the work. putting a strangle hold on small hauliers. a national minimum pence per mile may be the answer. but that won’t suit everyone.
