Bus driver let kids ride in luggage area, gets busted.
Sounds like the coolest bus driver ever
I’d stuff all the little ■■■■■■■■ into the luggage rack, if there was an ounce of respect at home of little jacinta and Jonty, it wouldn’t have happened in the first place
Kids will be kids. Put a group of them together they’ll push and wind and you’ve just got to rise above it. Ignore it.
The fact that his company (who I’ve dealt with personally) knew about issues raised by the driver but let it go due to shortage of staff says quite a lot here.

First it’s one kid. Then it’s 7. Then how many?
First it’s a couple of minutes, then the annoying kids want longer.
I’ve got sympathy in that neither the company, school or parents were in control of the kids. After all how can anyone drive and be in charge of kid’s discipline? But the driver was in the wrong to give in to get a quieter life.

I have to say I sympathise with the driver, even though he appears to have been stupid. I have never done school runs and hopefully never will, but when I have done school excursions I won’t let the little perishers on the bus until there is a teacher on each deck. He/she is then asked to ensure that all are wearing their seat belts before we can depart. They can ring the bell as much as they like until the engine starts, after that it means the bus is going to stop.
What are the rules on supervision of kids on buses? It can’t be right that the driver is responsible?
Is this penny pinching by having no teacher or other assistant?

There isn’t any. Or wasn’t that I was aware of when I worked on the buses/coaches.
I, now foolishly, looked forward to doing some ski runs because there’s teachers on board but you soon realise they treat is their own holiday too.

Maybe design school buses like aircraft?
Driver in locked compartment in front. If the kids wanna play “Lord of the Flies” in back, let 'em.

The driver is always responsible for his/her passengers comfort and safety. I.E. the buck stops here.
I drive school runs there is no other adult on board going to and from school , but when I do swimming contracts or sport there is usually two adults “supervising”. The adults in schools are often more trouble than the pupils.
Speaking from experience there’s two types of school run.
1/ The pupils sit quietly and thank you when they get off.
2/ The little ■■■■■■■■ have a riot, chuck seats out of the windows and leave the bus by means of the
emergency exits including the one upstairs.
