anybody else see burnt out artic on m6 last night, right across from carlisle checkpoint. felt sorry for driver, must have lost a lot of gear in cab.
Saw one few years back, fire started round the brakes on trl, the driver grabbed as much as poss and watched from a distance as the fire spread, later saw the whole set up gutted on recovery, why he never dropped the trl and let that go I’ll never know! If he had time to take out his bag, tv etc surely enough time to drop and go!!!
Yes, looked like a Wiseman’s. Don’t know why he didn’t drop the triler tho’. Looks like the fire started in the fridge unit. Glad the driver’s ok that’s the important part.

You may not be able to drop the trailer properly, but it’s usually easy to pull the pin and hit the throttle, you may not get far before the brakes come on the unit, but should get a safe distance.
