Can you tow a caravan with an artic?
This was causing a big tailback this morning.

Can you tow a caravan with an artic?
Generally it is illegal to tow more than one trailer with any type of vehicle, although there is an exemption for showmen provided that the combination does not exceed a length limit (which I can’t be arsed to look up), based on the fact that their vehicles generally travel slowly, and at night.
A bit Ironic stopping there !
He’d be running round with a bucket looking for some water & all he’d see was a helpful sign telling him that there was a Dry Field, Close by.
Looks like the van is ok so at least he can have his tea

I saw a old Bedford chinese 6 pulling a full artic trailer with a pickup truck on an A-frame. About 7pm on the M62 I think. Or whichever motorway you use to get into Liverpool. (I was heading out, him in)

Showmans licence, too long to go into details but long story short the showmans guild have a charter that allows things that normally wouldn’t be allowed, It has to be noted that to use this the person must be a member of the showmans guild, so you cant just call yourself a showman and drag two trailers about, and they are pretty particular about who they let in, think Masons but with a stricter membership code

Looks like an old Avondale, if so they were good vans ( reckon the front window will be a bit distorted though)

On the subject of front windows had to have mine replaced as it had a crack in it and as it was the one big single window it cost nearly £500 but the insurance sorted it.
Oops sorry thought I was on the Caravan Club forum for a minute.
