Bullimores Quarry Colly & Clipsham

just a long shot really, wondering if there’s anyone on here that worked out of these quarries in the 80’s ■■

I still remember quite a few of the drivers & most of the subbies…

Richard Coles in his Cargo
Ron bass - Leyland 6 wheeler
Jim Sharples & his SAS flying Volvo’s (neil, slimbo & a few others)
John (desperate) measures
Reg & his green (Litlington Haulage?) Foden 8w
Paul Allen - SA 6w
Richard Wells

Some of the best blokes i ever worked with & we all pulled each other out of the crap regularly !!

I have only been into Colly & Clipsham in later years mate.

As far as I know Richard Coles is still working out of the pits driving this 4 wheeler.

Photobucket

I think it was John Measures Cargo that was parked up outside his house for quite a while after he finished.
I havent been up that way for years so dontb know if it is still there.

I think Litlington only opertaes two or three wagons these days.

Do you have any pics of any of the wagons when you were working out of there, by any lucky chance?

Cheers

Pic attached this time, I hope

is that a picture of clipsham weighbridge ?

yes mate, well spotted!

i thought it was i went in there around 2001-2003 with RAY C SMITH collecting blocks for ketton stone

Pleased to hear Tricky is still alive & kicking, he must be due to retire soon, pretty sure he was late 30’s when i worked there in 83/4/5

JM packed up ■■ Did he go driving elsewhere or retired ?

Pics … not a single pic in my collection :frowning:

That pic of the weighbridge isn’t quite how i remember clipsham, there was a little hut beside it if I remember correctly.

My dad worked for Bullimores as a Subby Fred bent with a Volvo eight-legger orange cab black body

Trying to remember your dad mate.

Was his Volvo an FL and was it in Bulli’s livery?

No it was a F86
