Bulbs

Any thoughts weather 24v xenon bulbs are better than the standard daf bulbs are they legal do they improve illumination i find the headlights on daf very lacking

I repaced the bulbs in my car with Xenon bulbs. I can’t see it being illegal. Don’t think that they make much difference TBH

i am not too sure on the truck situation myself, but i also changed my car bulbs for Ring Xenon Max bulbs, they are 120% brighter and have a good white light, and are 100% legal. i would be interested if you could put them in a unit as i dont find the standard bulbs much good

I use those for my car head lights, Some one must of replaced mine with standard halogens when I bought my car, It was dangerous to drive until I changed them, I have those headlights which look like spots

It’s the aftermarket HID kits that are illegal.

If its just a bulb your buying you should be ok. If it has power pack attached to the bulb it’s illegal.

When your Vehicle got first registered there must be said in that Document which Light are fitted. If you do changes you may need a Clearance Certificate from Manufacturer that it is Safe and Legal

Otherwise you risk your Injurence protection in an Accident

No, these bulbs are 100% legal as an alternative to the factory fitted ones

Not so sure about that

hold it!!!
Ignore everything I have said!!!
Just had a look at the box my bulbs came in and they are Hi intensity halogen bulbs (look like xenon according to the blurb).

Good idea go blind oncoming traffic you so-called professional, think of the children driving in the opposite direction they could be blinded and veer onto your side of the road and die horribly.

I have driven loads of DAFS, for quite a few firms and to be honest I have never struggled with the headlights of any of them. Nor any other truck for that matter what is wrong with you? Ffs you were asking about buying a light bar to for the same reason a while ago I just dont get it. I have never met a driver who moaned about lights, maybe you should get your eyes checked, or give up driving if you cant manage in a truck that thousands of others do without any problems

My Honda Pilot has them fitted as standard and when one blew a few months back I got a shock :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: $45.00 for a headlamp bulb :open_mouth:

Trucks here don’t have 24v.

A rather OTT way of making his point, but there is a good point in there.
If you’re really dazzled, you do tend to steer towards the lights dazzling you.
Not necessarily “veer onto your side of the road”. all it needs is to be just over the white line

I thought ott was the whole point of this forum? But yes if you can’t see at night you need glasses not brighter bulbs.

Save yourself time and money and just drive around with your fog lights on.
