Help required please.
I’m planning on doing a painting of a scene that probably never existed.
A group picture of new BRS tractor units all parked together, a unit from all of
the old regional area’s, late 70’s or early 80’s
I live in Leeds and remember the trucks that served this area were,bright orange, north eastern BRS, or just northern BRS 
From memory, were midlands BRS blue, southern BRS, dark brown
Can’t remember western, or eastern colours
would appreciate seeing any photos of these old livery’s

When I was at Pedigree Petfoods, Melton Mowbray (about 1984) the livery was mid- brown.
I 'm sure that was EasternBRS.
My old Seddon shunter at BRS Langley Mill was brown too, but most of that was rust! 
The night trunker from John West, Liverpool was red IIRC so that would be North West?

I was at oxford brs in 1970 and the units were red,oxford depot had the fleet prefix MA then the number,swindon was ME and banbury was MB cant remember the others.
Southern were orange midlands were mid blue roadferry dark blue white band
light blue top half white roof francis parcels blue brs parcels green mortons green rentals white
I’d forgotten how many regions there were, but i can remember seeing,
brown ,scammell crusader’s, in the south-west
blue, ford transcontinental’s around the midlands
sandy coloured vehicles ( similar to Elddis colour ) around the west country
red trucks, north west ,i think
definately orange, around yorkshire
rental trucks , white,with red wheels…
south East ■■?
Sheffield BRS was in the North Eastern Traffic area and were red.The code was JA and then DA or t’other way about.North Western was red and Western was blue I think.Eastern was brown and rental was white.
That’s all I can remember and probably wrong anyway.

Why not try and get hold of a copy of BRS A PICTORIAL HISTORY, by Nick Baldwin. Its a good book packed with colour and black & white photos featuring most of the reginal liveries. Very highly recomended !!
These are from Wrexham depot and came under North Western CK
Changed to just Western later on, i know the fleet codes all went to pot and were to contracts rather than just CK for the depot
This FL10`s orange paintwork was for the Con Can contract
South Eastern…Royal Blue
Scotish…Traffic Blue
North Western…Sea Green
North Eastern…Road Haulage Red
Midland…Nut Brown
South Western…Road Haulage Green
Western…Lead Grey
Eastern…Turquoise Blue
Theses were the official colours before they changed in the 70’s
