Browne Transport - spotted in south-east Finland?

Hi

About a week or so back I spotted a UK artic in south-east Finland; he was going the other way just as I was joining Highway 6. It was a plain-ish white unit with the text “Browne Transport”

Old UK units are common enough here on Russian plates, but I got a good enough look to see that this was RHD, and on UK plates; I even caught a glimpse of the yellow reg plate on the trailer.

Does anybody know anything about these? Highly unusual to see driver accompanied stuff from the UK - I think that’s only the second time I’ve seen a UK artic out here in 14 years. The other time was what looked like an OD in the queue waiting to clear customs at the Russian border.

I know the music industry have wagons here on tour from time to time but this was some kind of general haulage trailer.

Anybody know anything about where they are from, and what they do?

Thanks!

Hi! That’s western Finland though isn’t it?! This was about 200km further east and he was coming from the north-east direction…

As a matter of interest Scaniaman, what route do you do?

Is it ferry UK-Sweden and Sweden-Finland (brilliant journey all the little island just a stonethrow away from the ship), or is it all overland?

Cheers

PM me next time you’re out this way - if the planets line up right we could maybe meet up and grab a coffee sometime.

Brit Pete is right, there is a lot of English spoken here - I was wondering if you had tried to use any Finnish though (I’ve been here over 10 years and it still drives me nuts  ).

NO it,s as you say very hard
and up to now i have either
used english or german,

yep it a tough language but like you say thankfully they all speak english even though that makes us very lazy when it comes to languages.i’ll be off the boat at 5am tues and as far as i know i’ve got a full load for valkeakoski then i’ll either load in turku or back out empty

They are not the only Irish firm to be across that way either, Mr. McGeown gets over there too.

We go trhere reasonably regularly, i was in Tampere around a month ago, sailed Kappelskar Naantali, when i got back to Kappelskar there was another one of ours waiting for boat, same route, destination Helsinki.

I saw a Carna trailer a couple of months back - could have been a second hand one pulled by a Russian though.
