Oops I will have to go to Speck Savers wont I Ha Ha,
This picture is of Brs Oxford depot .
First Roadtrain TAG172 was driven on general haulage by Tony smith , he kept this motor very clean, 2nd Roadtrain was driven by the late Jock Fulton on general , 3rd Roadtrain was driven from new by Ray Timms on general ,later was passed on to Paul Collett and was on the night trunk for Edmunds Walker contract up to Dewsbury and back , later after Paul went on Vetrotex contract Ivor parry took 174 over to do the same job , it took us a few weeks to get clean .
Now this was a fine Foden with a 290 ■■■■■■■ in , it was supplied new to Servis Pak of Wallingford hauling cardboard on day runs only and it bloody flew , later it was replaced by a 92 Scania , and it was sent back to Oxford painted up and sent on General haulage ,but it was hated by most and ended up on internal; shunting .
This looks like it was worked hard , High Wycombe depot , it did not know they ran a general fleet ,and I did not know it came under Brs Southern.

As others have mentioned, it was a Bristol. We only had one of these in our depot- when BRS took it over our branch was seen as a bit of a dumping ground for any old units that nobody else wanted! We even had a plastic-cabbed Seddon foisted on us at one time- it had a “150” badge but drove like a 6LW.
I do not think you old red and rustys like my pictures ?

Hiya,
“Jakey Boy”, myself as a “former red and ruster” and not having any pictures and too “thick”
to be able to post anything other than my own written rubbish do appreciate the efforts of
everybody else who goes to the trouble of putting lnfo and pictures on here, and I’m sure I
speak for everyone on that score, just keep on posting Jakey everything is of interest.
thanks harry, long retired.
Hi ya Harry , great buddy I had a few mins thinking I was the only red/rusty from the 80s ,I know the later days of Brs was not in the 80s but me it was bloody great , I am still in contact with lots of Ex Brs Oxford staff and post pictures when they can find them ,and when I see them on Ebay .
