Of course working for the midlands division by the time I joined they were midlands blue, but I did get to drive a few old red ones, including 290 HOA the ex Oldbury depot Bristol which Dave Tarbuck owned.

Well you lads if you don’t know me from my photo I posted some time ago, I will wear my white bowling cap, hope to see you there Trevor H, I will be with Harry Gill, thats if he don’t get lost on the railway system, he is ok on the roads, he knows them like the back of his hands, but the train, a bit iffy, most likely he will end up in bloody Scotland, still he would love that, more whisky.
.Berwick you are a daft sod, no wonder you are “Dennis the Menace”, I would be lucky to get a old irish wash dresser in exchange for my wife, but just in case see looks at this reply, it would be worth a small fortune!
hiya,
C’mon Frenchy your still going strong at 61 pages, have’nt had any of your imput for a while, we’re missing you, be thinking about you on Sunday when at the Lincoln Farm for the Red and Rust show, old Norman and me are definitely going and hopfully get tanked up and i’m supplying the scotch a nice single malt will go down very well, wonder if the cafe still do digs just in case i get legless and can’t make it back to my guest house which is only a couple of hundred yards from the show, hope to get to know some of the guys who put stuff on here in the flesh and currently know only by their usernames would be nice to meet a former colleague too but as you know we are rapidly becoming an endangered species and getting thinner on the ground as time goes by, enough for now friend hope to hear from you soon.
thanks harry long retired.

Don’t forget Norm it’s normally your Good Lady who answers the phone when i give you a ring don’t you think it would be wise not to give me so much ammunition in your posts, don’t you realise i could really drop you in the fertilizer if Ireally wanted to, you sand wobblers never learn
thanks harry long retired.
Have a good time Harry and Norman, look out for Singapore BRS…
Thanks lads, tell you all about it when we get back, harry should be at his digs by now, he don’t know us sand wobblers as he calls us, are very brave men.
Chris I never saw that type of transport at the show, and I saw there is a TV show about IOM at seven tonight.

hiya,
Chris it must have been a holiday for the Far East branch there was none on the showground but in an ajacent field there was a field full of black and white things with hangy down things just lying about they might have been the pulling power at rest,Chris it was a good show and i thoroughly enjoyed it, if still well enough will definitely visit the next show, those restoring guys work miracles getting those old motors back to such fantastic condition, and not a patch or pop rivet in sight or crumpled mudguard (shades of Harry).
thanks harry long retired.
Harry, John has some good photo’ in his collection, Oldham, had some good nights out there.
