hiya,
There’s only money and time wasted on the vehicle wash, how long does it take to clean a wagon?? must be an hour you can do a good few miles in that time.
thanks harry long retired.
Hi Harry,
Hope you haven’t got that lorry parked under a tree, with this wind it could get damaged, not to say dirty.
Cheers Dave.

Here you are Harry, two minutes and it’s done
Then all parked up,nice and shiny
hiya,
Theres one thing for sure Chris, mine would either be off camera or the boss would be washing it, once i was in the yard it was paperwork sorted and gone, if the gaffer did’nt like how my motor looked he could, clean it, get it cleaned, or sack me, i never got sacked so i must have been doing something right,
thanks harry long retired.
harry_gill.
What is it with these people who wan’t to clean motors, when I was on the BRS, I either did a Birmingham or Coventry trailer change over for a nights work (easy)
Or when I was shunting I would get out there and tip and turn I.e. deliver the load, it could be 1, 2, 3 or more drops and then load and then back to the Depot, check the oil and water, fuel up, kick the tyres, wipe the windows, mirrors and lights, put the notes in to the traffic office and off home. Where’s the time to wash motors, I had a life to live. I must say that when I was on Sutton’s I believe a lot of washing of motors when’t on at St. Helens but I don’t know who by, but it was very nice to work with well maintained and clean motors.
Tony
Chris how could you, putting WC fleet up, they cause the decline of our Carlsberg job, would a silver cross or garlick make them dis-appear

Sorry about putting Cannotwin up Norm.I’ll delete the post if it distresses you that much .
Not even a stake through the heart would make them disappear.
hiya,
Re-nationalisation of the railways here on the east coast mainline the government has done something right just need to do the same with the road haulage industry and they’ll get my vote.
thanks harry long retired.
Chris, nothing upsets me,well yes sometimes the wife
, Harry, you just want to get the red & rust going again, you are a crafty old so and so
hiya,
Norm it’s you youngsters i’m thinking about if the BRS cracked away they may even resurrect Overland and i’m sure there’s a trip or two left in the old dog yet.
thanks harry long retired.
A good trip might see me out, about 3/4 years ago, I travelled from Oban To Scarborough, and I was knackered, and that was in a car, one time I would think nothing of doing 6/7 hundred miles in a day, but I was younger and fitter. And as I have said before, I do not smoke, drink, or go with women, it doe’s not make you live longer!, it just seems longer.

Cheers Dave.
Beer, women,■■■■ and AECs kept me going .
Dave, if you saw some of those clippies, you would say we worked hard to get a date with them, and played hard if we succeeded, but once again I was very young, and a lot, lot fitter.
Yes I do remember clippie’s on the buse’s Norman, only when I was very young,as I live in a country area, conductors and clippies soon became a thing of the past. We only have subsidised low entry buses through here about three times a day, most people have their own transport, different to years ago.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Must be just a dream eh Norm i reckon i’d need forklift assistance to get into the driving seat and would’nt have a clue how to handle the modern technology of todays motors, but i bet i could back them into tight spots first time every time thats something you never forget a bit like riding a bike, thats if i could find reverse.
thanks harry long retired.
Harry, I have been in a few tight spots myself, but it was my wit that got me out of it.
hiya,
Norm don’t thnik my wit would get me out of bother, more than likely it would get me deeper in the fertilizer business.
thanks harry log retired.
Hi Harry,
Could be wrong here, but did you drive for this firm, seem to have seen them on here somewhere.
Cheers Dave.
hiya,
Yes Dave did a short spell for Riding’s and on Leylands too, but Atkis was the mainstay when i was there, did’nt last long bit of a difficult place to get too from where i lived at the time.
thanks harry long retired.
