Here’s a few pictures taken at the transport rally at BCVM at Leyland today.
I dropped by on the way home (slutched up to the eyeballs after putting bits back on the Atki)

Interesting photo’s
Good Pic’s marky
Cheers Convoy - it’s the subject matter that makes them great; I just point the camera and press the button
Marky, thank you very nice pictures, but I do have one question ,the last picture, what lorry is that? A import from the USA ■■ or a home grown
manufactur. the one in question has a tipperbody & signposted
JP ;WHITTER
It’s actually an Oshkosh Pete. It has had the tipper body added.
The firm that own it use all sorts of tackle such as old S39 Fodens, an AEC Mammoth Major rigid (possibly ex-MOD) and the other American thing behind the Oshkosh in the picture. They all work - nothing in their yard is allowed to stand idle.
They were featured in the latest Classic & Vintage Commercials magazine.
It’s an Oshkosh-a manufacturer from Wisconsin that makes construction equipment, mostly cement mixers, and a few yard shunters (some used to have Deutz air-cooled motors, even!). They are all as ugly as that one.
Aren’t Oshkosh from the town of Oshkosh in Wisconsin?
I think the word to describe their vehicles is ‘utilitarian’. I don’t think any beauty contests will be won by anything with their nameplate on it.
