Britain's killer highways

Anyone use these roads?

According to the article 1754 people were killed on UK roads in 2012. The figures for France for the same year are 3645

Hiya i,ve used these roads god know many times. the reason they have become a playground for
fast cars and bikes is just whats happening now.(The media tell everyone how dangerious the road is)
so everyone goes miles out of their way to prove they can drive them.plenty of the Buxton tipper men
have driven these roads in all weathers like me, they’ve never crashed because the road is to be respected.
30 years ago the norm was 3 loads a day from Buxton to Manchester / Crewe/Sandach.the brakes was
not as good as today, nither did we have the horsepower but we did’nt crash . the death toll is made
up with drivers who just don’t know the road, yes some have bikes, so do i, others just go too fast in cars.

5 people die everyday on our roads. Everyday!.

We may curse the delays, but everyone of them had family or friends who’s lives will be changed forever. Maybe 5 or 6 a year get mentioned on the news, maybe more in the local rag.

If 5 soldiers died everyday overseas there would be an uproar. Makes you think … hopefully.

As to OP, no I don’t regularly drive those roads, although I’ve done the Buxton roads a fair few times years ago. Bad enough in a transit let alone a hgv
