By a strange coincidence I met a bloke here in West Cork , Southern Ireland.
He now runs a small auction here. I took some bits of furniture into him and he noticed straight away a night heater exhaust on my trusty VDub …
Turns out he’s an ex M/E trucker…
Name of Harry Hollingsworth… From Oop North.
Was on for Brit Euro , based in Zeebrugge.
Anyone know of him??
When was he doing m/e for Brit?
I was on there from '75 till '77, he must have been on later than that.
Having said that, I did m/e for another 10 years for other firms and knew most of the Brit drivers on the run, but at the moment the name does not ring a bell.

I don’t know when mate. Although I think he said late 70’s…
I’m going to his auction tomorrow so will probe a bit more!
As is well known there are at least 10,000 more drivers did M/E work than there actually were eh.
However he does seem genuine and a nice fella.

Ask him for a few names of Brit’s drivers on the m/e.
I knew such guys as:
Bob Matthews, Cyril Hughes, Davy Jones, Jimmy Withers, Dave Prosser, Ian Rollinson.
