maybe one to pass by then…

Is it Brit European tankers or Silver Arrow?

I signed up with Silver Arrow, never heard anything off them until I’d found other work - like buses - but the work they offered me was Abbey Road Tanks

Hth

deffo brit european

chemical tanker work ,short haul stuff , max hours .not max pay weekends away as many as you want to do , bog standard fleet motors merc axors , low cab scania’s , Renault premium . what part of the country do you live ?

Really crap money from what I’ve heard off some of their drivers, £18k basic but there are bonuses, but your decent take home is only really made up by maxing your hours and doing 4 or 5 nights out.

Im sure the flying foden is a driver for them. He does European.

he does indeed and nothing that as been posted is incorrect so far

I saw a Brit European tanker delivering to the Tesco garage on Winwick Road Warrington yesterday

Sorry for this ,but my dad loved his days with BET. I know its changed a lot since then

Been doing agency work for Brit through silver arrow (their own agency) for last week on high and heavy delivering plant.

Standard kit no bells and whistles maintained ok. Organisation is ok, most planners have some knowledge of driving so no total muppet questions.

Money - agency stuff is standard money for a bit more work. From employed drivers, say they work 4 on 4 off but do an extra day a week take home is £1800 a month. I think this is a bit skinny for the specialist work these guys do. Bit of load bonus so holiday pay will be less. Most shift drivers want to go tamping to get there money up and hours down. Shift drivers are salaried, runs supposed to take 10 hours but none do.

Overall think company want their pound of flesh like most do. A lot easier work about than the high and heavy, not sure what fuel work is like…

thx all for the replies…

The high & heavy is nothing to do with the tanker side there all run on different pay scales and different shift patterns .the fuel lads are also on a different pay structure and on a 12 hour days /nights shift pattern run from the Ellesmere port depot . hope this helps

boatchaser long gone are the days of when your dad worked here. i know this all to well as i worked here then . different job with different pay scales and a lot different type of work. the good days are long gone same as a lot of company’s.

Flying Foden
I went many times with him all over europe, when the yard was in Scholar Green. Dad had to stop as he had a heart attach on his way home, drove himself into Dover A & E and then had a massive attach, got a call from the cops to tell me all about it. Drove down to Dover to see him and the nurse ask when i got there when you,ve seen him could you move the truck as its parked in the car park . BET were great with him and Rod Carman called me and ask if i could come and pick his gear up,when i went down to clear his cab out there was Andrews tablets every where must have been having pain for a while

Did anybody ever find out about the fuel tanker work, advertising again apparently…!?

I live @ home in Kent drive, give me your CF, I’d love to drive it (as long as it isn’t an axor or some zb like that:lol: ) I go on about it because I really fancy doing it but I’m out of the driving game now, employers aren’t interested:(

Unfortunately I’m not a smoker & I’m not taking up smoking just to be given a shot at being a fuel tanker driver, it’s false economy
