BRIDGE STRIKES.

.

moomooland:

February 25th at Lockwood near Huddersfield.

Looks like he was actually delivering that bridge!

It takes a special kind of tenacity to keep going in that situation in the forlorn hope that you’ll eventually pop out of the other side if you gas it enough and then everything will be fine and dandy.

So it does happen to others then  If this had been one of Eddies we would have been upto page 50 by now giving them loads of s–t :unamused:

ajt:
You can’t blame the driver(s)

Thats just ridiculous!

Anybody get caught on the A5 Watling St Saturday morning near Hinckley one of our eastern European friends tried to get a double decker under and popped it on its side !!!

moomooland:
Its not just the height some so called professional drivers struggle with, its also the width as well :unamused:

This Arla Scania got stuck on Hareshill Road Heywood.
You just would not attempt it would you.

especially as you can weave around it on the wrong side of the road ffs

He just done the job first before it got on a trailer

here comes trouble:

I assume you reckon the driver was east European and not the rig, as east Europeans don’t have double deckers,(Not over 4 metres anyway).

I run the continent most of the time mate, this was a british registered truck white MAN with a dd I had the misfortune to be 2nd behind the muppet when he done it and he was definatly east European not the truck

Bridge Strikes. I wish they would. Maybe they could demand a rise…

If I hadn’t seen that with my own eyes…

Have ever made a mistake?

Never hit a bridge and I’ve done a lot of mileage with double deckers. MK1 eyeball connected to functioning brain is all that is needed.

Jesus Christ on a bike :open_mouth: :astonished: :open_mouth: :astonished: :open_mouth:

What about the eye opener on the A461 through Walsall?

Its marked at 14’ and the first time I did the pallet place in Wolves the other driver told me to follow him… he was driving a decker and I had a 14’ low rise thing…

Anyway couldn’t believe my eyes as he took the road clearly marked ‘low bridge ahead’ and as I backed right off behind him, he sales under with tons of space to spare…

Seen a lot including 14’ 6" buses on the that road since…

That’s quite famous among the lorry driving community. I’ve been under it with a 14’9" trailer with no problems … never quite dared try it with a decker though.

13 feet is 4 metres. Which is what the sign at the tunnel says now 13 feet/4 metres

A 13 foot trailer will happily go through a 4 metre tunnel. A 4 metre trailer might not get through a 13 foot tunnel. 4 metres is 13’ 1½".
