Bridge Strike. Driver Error?

Knowing this bridge, and the driver would have had to go under it to get to the loading point, I would think the would of mesured the overall height before leaving the site to go back under this bridge/tunnel, the problem with it is, you drop down a hill with the drop not levelling out until the start of of the bridge, so I would think the rear of the trailer would still be quite a height above the level of the unit, making the overall height over the marked height.
Doesn’t look like he actually hit the bridge, because the access hatch would of been damaged.

its a railway car on a low loader so yep drivers responsability

Doesn’t look all that low. Anyway it’s the drivers responsibility.

He’s not going to have an easy time of reversing out of there. The route he took is the only way into his destination, so I’d say it’s been a loading error/height error.

He is on his way out of his loading point, with 2 low bridges either end, one 10’ and that one at 12’, I would be surprised that either one of the places he loaded it at wouldn’t have made sure the overall height wouldn’t exceed 12’ knowing he wouldn’t get under the bridge if he was.

Sorry mate yes your rite, he’s heading away from the railway museum and heading into the city centre. This one caught me out as most vehicles either collide heading towards the museum or at the lower bridge at the other end of Leeman Road.

Bridge too Low = How can that be Drivers Fault?
I would blame Highway Maintenance or Departement for Transport. Needed a diversion of 20 min in Leicester to get the Company behind the Bridge,. Was then closed anywhy as it was sunday. :grimacing:

well,…its a different Story if you hit that low bridge.

The bridge isn’t too low you spoon! The vehicle is too high. The end.

Your subject contains a ? At the end, when in fact it should be a full stop.

Bridge strike. Driver error.

There, much better
