Bridge strike A1 Tuxford

There’s a video of the aftermath of one of Gordon Gilders low loaders hitting (what I think is) the railway bridge A1 south near Tuxford doing the rounds on soshal meeja at the moment. Looks like he was carrying two tracked diggers and the boom of the rear one has struck the bridge taking it clean off of the trailer. Avoid the area.

This happened this morning and it was carnage when I went past on the north bound side. It’s not a railway bridge, it’s a road bridge.
Not seen any pics on line as of yet.

Local news have…

Been updating through the day. I believe the southbound is still shut from Markham moor. The obvious way round using the B1164 has a bridge restriction of 16’ before you can re-join at Tuxford itself.

I went by it just before lunch, never saw a thing, apart from some orange bits in the road, wondered what the fuss was about.

not sure if their drivers do different loads within the company but Gilders often run around markets with double deck livestock trailers so you’d think all their guys would be pretty good on load heights etc. Possibly an ex stobbie driver who was getting withdrawal symptoms from missing all the bridges?
