I meant that I have not seen road bridges marked up with amounts between 16’1" and 16’5".
I’ve seen plenty of 16’0" or 16’6"'s though.
At the other end of the scale, can anyone beat THIS for low?

Have you tried google street view?
Got to be careful because even the Google cars get it wrong sometimes.
Click HERE then click the forward arrow a couple of times until…
Oops, hope those cameras can take a knock.

I’ve never seen one marked at anything above 16’0" so I always thought that the threshold was there…
Make your mind up

Answers on a postcard, or better below this post please.
No, but I know of a footbridge marked at 16’ 6’’
That footbridge is marked 16’ in the offside lane.

I’ve since been shown a bridge marked 16’6" but nothing in between.

If some hightops are 15’11", then they barely fit under the bridges on the luton stretch of the M1, looking at the dents to the concrete underneath (presumably from bouncing up and down as you pass underneath!
)
This would also fit in with my “no need to mark bridges 16’1” high" theory here, as if the M1 bridges were 16’7" plus instead, then there would be more visible clearence when you’re following some pallet carrier. Sometimes it looks as if an extra coat of paint on the roof would have them chipping more chunks out of the bridge!
The Bridge in Denham on the A412 near Uxbridge is marked at 16’3". A bit hairy with a 16’2" trailer

Meir tunnel on the A50 at Stoke has a 16’6" warning sign on the approach (16’9" on the approach to the overbridge before it from the Uttoxeter direction).

Is that between 2012 & 2017 or something totally different
Winseer there is a bridge marked 16’3 on the A689 just off junction 60 of the A1(m). I can’t seem to get the image posted but it is definitely there. Not marked up on google maps low bridges or in my AA bridge atlas but it is there. Came across it one night following the magical mystery diversion when the A1 was closed heading south.
Try this:
google.com/maps/d/viewer?mi … 000034&z=6
Tap on the blue marker and the detail is shown.

Bridges near Luton are fine. Vauxhall’s black Masterfit deckers are 16’4" tall and pass under them no problems.

Bridge heights are always marked in 3" increments so you’d only see 16’3" or 16’6" not anything inbetween. As posted already an unmarked bridge can be assumed to be at least 16’6" so it seems a waste of a sign to mark them at that height!
Get one of these if you need to do London lorry routing, all the height and weight limits are shown (and it’s updated fairly regularly too).
Big burner:
and it’s updated fairly regularly too
Really?

Going back many years I owned a fantastic lorry driver map of London, all bridge heights and restrictions were included, sadly some thieving git stole it from my cab.
Surely you can get a truck app on your smart phone ?

Yes, you can. Most of them cost money though, which seems to go against the grain with lorry drivers in general…
