An ability to adapt would be a good thing, our INability is a problem.
Interesting idea.
Of course it took 40 years to arrive at where we were in the EU
Perhaps context is what you lack

Here is the UK and USA, GDP per capita, over 60 years. In what context does the UK`s membership of the Common Market > EU show any significant hardship compared with the US?
data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY … ions=US-GB
It looks to me like a reasonably successful economic story up until 2008 and the Global recession?
Another downward step for the UK in the mid 2000`s too. What caused that I wonder?

Who mentioned hardship?
Had the Common Market remained just that I doubt there would have been the political opposition that developed overtime.

Just like one of Johnson`s speeches then?

Said he had an “oven ready deal” - turns out that was a blatant lie to win an election. Nothing more.To what was he referring?

I never quite follow your oblique thought patterns.
I’m sure it makes sense to somebody.
You quote the oven ready deal comment- did you have an answer to the question that went with it?

The brexit deal?
The oven ready deal only ever referred to the WA.
I’m amazed that even this late in the day that still needs explaining. Given this level of political intelligence it can come as no surprise to you that you were unable to carry the debate.

Was Johnson referring to a Brexit deal? Or to a withdrawal agreement?
David Frost is still negotiating one, and still re-negotiating the other.
Neither are a working reality.
So a failure, by any definition, of whatever he was talking about.

You sure you follow politics?
The oven ready deal was specifically the WA

Confused by the negotiating and renegotiating comment…
Why the differentiation? Both were negotiated… and both are being worked on.
So surely to be consistent… .?

So…the “oven ready” deal/withdrawal agreement…still isnt done..... Frost, the un-elected Minister, is still fumbling around with it all. We have ongoing trade deal talks with the EU...................... Negotiations are taking place. We have talks referring back to the already signed WA............That is an agreement being re-negotiated. . As an aside, is "consistent" anywhere in the PM
s lexicon I wonder?
The fact is that the “oven-ready” deal was sold to the British electorate in the run-up to the Dec 2020 election. And was fraudulent. And we now see how unready it was. It was no better than the many attempts Theresa May made to get a “deal” through parliament.
The difference being that any “decent” tories were either purged or gagged, to rush it through.
My MP being one of them. And the simpering pork-flogger, Liz Truss, another.
Far from being ready, the UK STILL has not “taken control” of its borders, and is not even attempting to apply customs controls on many goods from the EU. The EU however, IS complying with its own rules, of course. Leaving the UK in the laughable and tragic position of having imposed sanctions on itself, with NO visible gain or advantage in sight. Will we be “ready” by March 2022? Who knows?

Hate to break it to you but the oven ready deal isnt acceptable to either side and hes demanding the EU renegotiate. What part of this is escaping you?

No.
Laughing at the absurd fact that Franglais illustrated my point.
As for the WA…the point was to get it through and put an end to the ridiculous delays.
I’d like to say I’m disappointed at the need to explain this, but I’m not surprised.

If you think it is all going well, that any “delays” to try and get a workable deal in place was “ridiculous”, then I for one will let you continue on your happy way.
Don`t feed the unicorns!
Yes that was a good idea - “get it through” with no thought so it all collapses again a few months later causing more damage than it would have. Good call!
