I know I get sometimes criticised for posting videos from the same source, namely, Diffrent Bias, as people , by now know about him, I’m being told, and can follow this guy on daily basis , if they want to, but I know that majority, especialy from the opposite camp, prefer not to watch him, and would prefer if others were not aware of his work, that’s why I think it’s important to post his daily videos, to make everybody aware of what’s happening around, on daily basis.
I don’t have time every day to go through hundreds of articles, I trust this guy to do it for me, and summarise it all by the end of the day.
Yes, he is a remaineer, but a man who I know I can trust with giving me a very clear summary of what’s happening out there.
I also enjoy reading your posts , mate, you are doing a very good job on this board.
Just announced on BBC R4 PM programme, UK will unilaterally delay border checks in N.I.
(Nothing much on web yet to give a link but daresay that won’t be long)
Also: New Morocco-UK shipping route launched to bypass Brexit border woes
A new direct shipping route is set to open between Morocco and the UK in a bid to help Moroccan produce bypass the post-Brexit border friction on goods arriving via Europe.
The service will be run by United Seaways and promises to cut journey times on Moroccan goods from more than six days by road, to less than three.
The weekly RoRo route will operate between Tangiers and Poole with no additional stops.
At least One UKIP promise looks like coming true: “The Grass Is Greener Out Of The EU”
I have criticised hkloss for posting links to the same site too often.
But…I’ll save him the trouble with this one: youtu.be/KYwuV-BOnO8
A Brexiteer suing the UK Gov over Brexit…
OK, a bit more complicated than that, as EVERYTHING, Brexit related is, but worth a few minutes to watch.

Many on this forum seem to quote, and misquote, and try to co-op George Orwell for their cause, I suggest Kafka might have found this inspirational.

Please tell me if there is a shortage of Camambert, Spanish oranges, Dutch Edam and Gouder, German or French beers, … ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC
on the UK supermarkets shelves
NO
NOTHING
NADA
Service as normal then .!
And I can tell you that all goods coming FROM the UK , Cheddar etc are in abundance
Our company must have at least 3 to5 loads a day coming back here,
AND without any Customs problems, as long as the paperwork is in order.
The thread is going on because it is in the news everyday so it still has some relevancy.
There is a lot of project fear going on though. With both covid and brexit.
The issue with that though, is you can only do that so much before people stop believing it.

YES until April as up until now ■■■■■■■■ rules have been waived on Imports
Wait until British Customs Start Up in April - Remember Them ■■
On 1 April, British customs begin controlling imports of animal products, including fishery produce and live bivalve molluscs such as mussels; food considered high-risk such as mince and sausages; and plants and plant products.
British Customs make all the others look like Mother Teresa - or have you forgotten or too young to have expereinced them??

Things have moved on massively since you were going overseas, the majority is now done online with customs selecting who they want there are not 100% physical checks going into Europe, coming off the train in Calais a minority are selected using signs so if you are not selected it is straight out. Be interested in how many loads you have delivered into Europe and then backloaded to the UK since the 1st of January, as Pierrot said things run smoothly if you have the correct paperwork and as firms get used to the paperwork things are speeding up. Yesterday lifted a frozen load in Holland for the UK loaded collected the CMR’s within 10 minutes of leaving the T forms were e-mailed to my phone, MRN scanned at the Tunnel.
With loads into Ireland you access the Irish customs website 30 minutes prior to docking and you get an instant reply as to whether customs want to see you get a green light and it’s straight out of the port, again here as customs and drivers have got used to the procedures things have speeded up.
Edit to add there have always been checks at certain ports if coming in through Portsmouth, Killingholme or Newhaven you wouldn’t have known you moving in a free trade zone prior to Brexit
Well, we are two months in, we are still submitting paperwork that is tak8ng days to be approved.
No, we don’t get on the boat until the docs are done, so don’t get held up in the ports, but that does NOT mean that all is going smoothly.

Do you think HE is making this stuff up?
Because you have not personally witnessed problems, doesn’t mean they aren’t out there.
And what of the attitudes shown to the Brexit deal?
Wasn’t it hailed as being so brilliant? And before it is even fully signed, it is being broken.
How will negotiations continue I wonder?

Quite correct that with correct paperwork things can be smooth and quick.
But haven’t you previously said you had to divert somewhere to get docs done?
Who is paying for these people sitting in offices tapping away at keyboards? Who is paying for those on other offfices and checkpoints ensuring if all is correct?
As WS had pointed out this is, so far, only the half of it. The UK has yet to start import controls.

How long does it take to exit Ouistreham now? And how long did it take a year ago?
How long to exit Pompey now, and how long did it take a year ago?
We will see how long it’ll take in a few months time.
How many officials are seen (all being paid for) around the ports today compared with a year ago? How many more are in offices?
Security is down to clandestines, but many are there for customs.
Franglais, not sure where I said I had to divert due to paperwork, the first load out of Germany that I did in January the company we were doing it for insisted that instead of collecting the T forms at the point of loading I had to go to their depot, their choice and to be honest completely unnecessary but maybe being the first load they wanted it done that way, since then have collected the T forms at point of loading or electronically. Are the delays you are experiencing in France or the UK? Both Germany and Holland seem to be efficient.
With reference to getting out of ports the long crossing ports have always been slow to get to get out of, Killinghome or Harwich would regularly take an hour to get out no reason for this to change for the majority, Using the electronic system you will know prior to leaving the ship if customs want to see you, that doesn’t mean that everyone else will just drive out the gate, but they haven’t been doing that at present or for the last 25years either.
UK customs have regularly said that they will maintain a light touch, after all with such high standards of food production in the EU what is there to worry about it’s not like they’ll be sending in shipments of beef that’s really horse is it?

Some loads we have our customs clearance, some we use client’s customs agents, and they are specifying which ports we use. I’m sure my boss is no fool, so will be charging for inconvenience and costs, but we are running silly routes. As said we as a company may not be losing, but surely the end customer is paying for inefficiency?
On the UK export side we are still having problems getting paperwork (electronic not actual paper) cleared before we can get our ferry or train tickets. As a driver we don’t always see these delays, especially if working for a larger company: you just get switched into a different job before you even load the first one. But I am sure this is happening even now. To cover our import loads we are shipping more empty trailers than previously at this time of year.
The official figures won’t be there for a while but we will soon see whether or not trade has been affected.

18 months ago Ouistreham was a free flow out the gate, it certainly isn’t now.

This can so easily be turned on it’s head and aimed at remainers regarding their view of the EU.
What will the EU do? Impose a hard border?
It’s an interesting situation because neither side claim to want a hard border. Yet, the UK seem to be pushing the EU on things that will likely result in escalation.
Also from what I’ve seen of the EU they seem to care more about the ‘integrity of the EU’ if that is a thing then ensuring there is no border in NI.
Personally, I dont see why the Northern Ireland border is such a big issue with the EU. The European Union is perhaps the easiest place to get into in the world. Either through land or by sea.
Yes.
A unilateral agreement between the UK Government and the UK Government, to relax rules agreed between the UK Government and the EU.
.
I may unilaterally agree with myself, to alter the rules concerning paying taxes in the agreement between me and HMRC.
.
Think that will be OK?

Is the big problem with NI the good friday agreement? Although I think it’s been a while since any significant violent action from either side, I think both sides probably still have people and the means to escalate back to the bad times.
