I would bet that brexit was decided years ago it had nothing to do with the red bus the Russians …If the eu was any good the remain vote should have won easy.On immigration it will get controlled or a party will come to the fore sooner or later and they will be voted in the people will in the end be taken notice of. The eu armed forces are going ahead the 25 will pay Germany and france for the aircraft, tanks ,ships ect…I call 25 captive customers…the eu is a mafia I am glad I voted leave…it was a good idea spoiled by leaders dreams of strutting the world stage .I want the eu to do well but I fear withe Germany close to the french nukes it could lead to the eu being bossy and cause a war where they will go like a wet paper bag

> Exactly, it’s probably why most brexiters voted the way they did. A bit like a divorce or any separation, the main aim is to get out, glad you can at least begin to understand the other side of the argument, something most remainers are unwilling to even consider. Its refreshing to have a pub type debate for a change Gordy.
BUT, when you say “a dislike of the road the EU is taking is probably why most brexiters voted the way they did.”
For me & many others, it beggars belief, as at the same time, they (Brexiteers) want the same group (Tories)
that set the ‘Road the EU is taking’ to run Britain.I find it almost impossible to understand why anyone would trust those Eton Educated & Proven Liars, to do anything at all to our advantage.
What I dont understand with your case points WS is that Brexit was only wanted by the right of political spectrum. You keep mentioning Tories this and Johnson that but there was plenty on the left (myself included) that wanted Brexit.
Labour for Leave was the representatives from the Labour party that wanted Brexit. https://www.labourleave.org.uk/
Tony Benn and Dennis Skinner were for leving the EU.
Allegedly Corben was also for leaving the EU but under pressure from his union backers lost his bottle.
The Conservative party was and is in power because of a woeful Labour party, a Labour party without the working class backing required to win an election. As a card carrying union man (GMB) under Corbyn leadership I just couldnt support Labour and my vote went in the bin instead.

And now those Mafia leaders have had their will, have left the EU and now control Britain (with an 80 seat majority)
AND, even more dream of strutting the world stage.

I have never intended to suggest that “Brexit was only wanted by the right of the political spectrum”
More that the Right Wing Billionaire Press: Sun, Mail, Express (& for the articulate truckers the Telegraph)
have poisoned the minds of the working class, and more so poisoned them against Corbyn.
I am more of a Lib Dem/Green, so no supporter of Labour, but from what I have observed Corbyn was a threat
due to his integrity, something that the Tories & UKIP found very threatening.
Even if you wanted ■■■■■■■■, how can anyone feel comfortable with the current bunch of lying criminals running (ruining) Britain.
A bit of light relief thanks to the Aussies.
The Australian Lamb Ad for 2021 brilliantly takes the ■■■■ out of ■■■■■■■■ in a way the Aussies are experts at:
Ha I have won …when you start the" ■■■■■■■■ stuff " I know your a busted flush beat no argument

Corbyn and integrity?
Now that’s comedy greatness.

Cannot really say Corbyn acts with integrity! He was well known to be anti EU and wanted out. It was only because the unions lent on him that he became pro EU.
You have to remember that the Unions are the true leaders of the labour party. Corbyn was just a puppet, a usefull idiot if you like!

Looks like Boris is saving it up to build his tunnel from Stranraer to Larne.
Every time you think “You Couldn’t Make That Up”
The man who brushes his hair with a Toffee Apple comes up with another Distraction.
Problems in Northern Ireland ?
EEEZEEE, “just look at my new dead cat, sorry my tunnel”: Boris’ Burrow.
AND, you still get people who say Corbyn would have been worse.
I wish I could get some of what they are taking

And that is exactly the reason we are where we are.
Many millions voted for DePfeffel, not because he was the right choice, but because he wasn’t Corbyn (oh and Farage helped by handing DePeff the election, he would have lost had TBP stood in every constituency), did people make up their own minds on that? or were they force fed that decision via the idiot box in the corner.
Nothing will change until people stop voting for the least worse option, its a negative vote.
You don’t go into a shop and buy something, if there’s nothing worth buying you bugger off home again empty handed, we have to get out of this negative mindset and start thinking for ourselves again.
Personally i will only vote for someone or something i believe in, a positive vote, from what i see there won’t be anyone or any party i shall be voting for over the rest of me natural, i refuse to vote for some fool because the other guy i am told by some overpaid twerp in too much make up is a more dangerous fool still, that is why we are where we are, people have exactly the govt and nation they voted for.
UHUU, I can see there has been some action over the last few days I’ve been away on this thread, and my dear friend’s Missgyorkie’s thread has been merged into this one.
What a pitty, she put so much effort into creating a new one.
Never mind.
I have come across an interesting video on YT this evening, so I thought I would post it, but ONLY for those interested in watching.
Warning: It’s about Brexit

My mate who belong to a Union , received an email from them recently, I will only copy part of it, as the rest is not related to the subject discussed here:
"Our Collective Voice
Workers’ Rights
In the middle of the coronavirus pandemic this government sought to attack workers’ rights. Despite repeated assurances from Boris Johnson that post-Brexit, workers’ rights would be strengthened, not weakened, the government announced a review looking to scrap protections on working hours, breaks and holiday pay.
Reaction from the trade union and labour movement was swift. Unite’s General Secretary, Len McCluskey, expressed his outrage at the move:
"In our time of need it has been working people who have kept this country safe and supported. The vulnerable and the lowest paid have paid the highest price during this pandemic.”
Within days the government review was dropped. Another u-turn from a chaotic government. Yet we know that you cannot trust the Tories with workers’ rights. We will be watching them.
GKN Birmingham factory
Unite is fighting to stop the closure of the GKN automotive plant in Birmingham, with the loss of over 500 jobs. The factory, which employs a highly skilled workforce, is extremely viable. It is un-derstood that if the factory closes the work will be transferred to factories in Europe."
YOU can not trust the eu with workers rights more so in transport…er yellow vest movement battered by the police for trying to protect hard won conditions and pension rights .Getting untangled from that mafia will take time ,if the eu was any good they would have won easy …when I started just before common market clock on to clock off no more than twelve and a half hours look at it now 15 spread your living in the dark ages sundays single time .selling us horse meat as beef ,cars with false emission figures, truck manufactures price cartel ,you need to take the rose specs off

I learned years ago that you tube is full of political pundits trying desperately to skew things to match their own angle, on BOTH sides. Don’t get taken in.
@Gordon 50
Yes, I agree with you mate, I try to be very selective about who I watch, I mostly look for familiar respectable names (newspapers, magazines, news channels) and watch their content, as there is really a lot of BS out there on YT, but this guy came accross as a sensible one, made sense to me and I thought I would post it here.
What I wasn’t happy about was that you could quickly see he was a remainer, after seeing all these books he was publishing and his books titles, but otherwise, I am sure, his experiences reflect what is happening in the real world.
On the other hand Diffrent Bias’s content is rock solid, and I am a huge fan of his. You just know , his content is properly researched , and I would advise politicians to watch his channel as there is so much very well researched content:
After just six weeks of brexit, there have been a number of severe consequences impacting businesses, customers and travellers alike. In this video, I discuss ten of the most visible consequences which Boris Johnson’s hard brexit has caused in the first phase, which will not include the consequences still to come when grace periods end.
youtube.com/watch?v=ksuhbN8eK5s
The Road Haulage Association are angry at the government for having not only presided over what they believe is a 68% drop in exports since brexit, but their failure to take warnings throughout last year seriously. Michael Gove and Boris Johnson are faced with the real problems of brexit, which need real solutions. Unfortunately, they seem to keep trying to treat brexit as a political problem, which it has been for the past few years.
I agree about ‘Different Bias’, he comes across as reasonably level headed. Again it doesn’t take long for his political stance to come through and I notice he also leaves bits out that doesn’t sit with that stance, but both sides are guilty of that I suppose.
Here is IMHO a really interesting piece.
ft.com/content/3a7bc26f-80e … 882d0930fe
Now the FT isn’t a well know “left wing rag” nor is it a well known supporter of Brexit, but the angle this piece chooses to look from is interesting.
Didn’t we have a few posts earlier about the opportunities that Brexit would throw up?
So here is further evidence that those chances are being grabbed.

I did vote for someone I believed in - to deliver Brexit.
That’s the issue the more limited of thinking seem to miss.
As for Corbyn; the man spent decades supporting scum who nearly murdered my 18 month old child in the Manchester Arndale bombing. Any vote keeping him out of power can only be a positive.

Not to get into Nothern Ireland issues but…
Corbyn was in favour of a united Ireland. To say he supported acts of terror is just a lie.
