Brexit Deal AGREED!

You do realise at this stage you’ve become a parody of yourself right? How old are you? Just wondering wether it’s worth a time of quiet reflection before returning as the old formerly a bit fun Carryfast (admittedly my memory may be playing trick on me here) or wether you’re too old and it’s just a tired descent to death as an ever more tired parody? I fear the latter but hope the former.

All Hail Popipty Ping*

*yeah I’m persisting with this tired old joke in solidarity with you my dear comrade

You obviously didn’t see the humour in Chinese Gestapo led by an Inspector Clouseau character representing the Macron run Vichy puppet EUSSR French state. :smiling_imp:
Now why would that be. :unamused:

Humour, says the most humourless man I’ve ever encountered. I get the impression that you haven’t smiled since 1964. Thanks for the stereotypical word soup gibberish though, keep proving that point for me. Does that even make sense to you?

Edit; I feel bad now, is it dementia? Was going to say early onset dementia but I can’t see you being under about 75

A Question for you CF:-

The links between Trump and Brexit, the twin far-right nationalist movements on either side of the Atlantic are numerous and deep with Jacob Rees-Mogg just one of them.

Steve Bannon, now indicted on serious fraud charges, advised Boris Johnson on speeches he made as he was campaigning for the Tory Party leadership.

Do you Agree that these ruthless liars and crooks have done terrible harm to the US, the UK and Council operated Detroit Diesels??

The only thing I agree with is that we’re seeing the ruthless corrupt CCP end game being played out.In the form of the links between CCP and the EU and Biden and an attempted Communist coup over the free world.Having infiltrated a US presidential election to do it.
So you think the self determination of the Nation State is the problem and the bad guys and CCP is the solution and the good guys.

Far right bs.

Five or ten minute read here
bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-scotl … s-55584500
DPD are suspending their EU parcel traffic until they can sort out paperwork.
Fish export is off to a cautious start, but those going already are hitting problems. Delays in getting pre export vet checks and checking on entering the EU. Quayside prices are likely to drop. DFDS Larkhall have changed a 24hr Boulogne service into a 3 day service.
Double taxes on clothing etc. Imported goods are taxed as they enter the UK. Because they originate outside the UK they are taxed again if sold to the EU. So the UK will lose out on distribution, and unstuffing containers etc.

So as expected (by some of us) there are now extra checks and documents needed both sides of the Channel and the Irish Sea. Time taken, cost added.
.
And Johnson says
“No non tariff barriers to trade”.
A blatant lie, or a delusional loon?

Secondhand news, but Dutch Customs are confiscating fresh foodstuffs from cab fridges at Europoort.
I don`t know if they are checking all vehicles or spot checking random ones. Since the Dutch have employed an extra 900 customs officials because of Brexit, I daresay there will be a few looking for something to keep themselves busy and earn their keep.

You know those Brexiteers who used to say “■■■■ it up, you lost’”?

Perhaps it’s time for them to start saying “Please forgive us, we cocked it up for everyone”?

Just a thought.

Happy New Year!
Yes, word of mouth only, as I fully acknowledge.
Daresay a few more members will be shipping out soon so we will see if it is going to be an issue or not. Seems easier to me to just stock up with fresh when over t`other side. (except maybe bacon, cheddar, sausages?)

As I said on my other post I think we will see some overzealous customs officers for the first few weeks :frowning:

There will certainly be bedding in, such as the Gwynedd hiccup delaying 60 trucks up to last Thursday because of a lack of MRDs, teething troubles there it seems. See what happens later on when flows are up to speed, and in the summer when UK import controls are due to come on line as well.
Ive also heard of (no link again!) one large company unable to do its exports because staff arent up to speed on the new docs. That is again a problem that should go soon. But ongoing admin is there forever and everything that is there is liable to be cocked up.
Some, hopefully most, checks will go quickly and smoothly, but these extra layers of red tape cannot be as cheap, quick, easy, as none, can they?
It`s a long way to go yet.

I think they tried Sir Frank (doffs cap) but he was at his new home, and the phone links to Monaco are down at the moment.

Don’t be daft, that’ll never happen, they are type that NEVER think they are wrong. Most Brexiteers would rather die than admit they might have fked up. The current tactic is when countries enforce years old EU law, with truckers food for example, it’s a sea of ‘their picking on us’ comments. No, they are applying the law you fking numpties

Remember Jim Ratcliffe, arch Breiteeer and boss of INEOS

well not only has he decided to build his Land Rover look-alike in France, Brexit has also made him close his British factory

gazettelive.co.uk/news/tees … e-19581542

I wonder what he thinks of Brexit now…oh, I expect he’ll still support it because it saves him money.

What’s your problem? Seriously, what is there to complain about? It’s January 2021, Brexit has kicked in . . is kicking in . . (whatever), and there are (allegedly) ‘teething troubles’. The trust that we’ve placed in Johnston and Gove can’t possibly have been naively misplaced. These two pillars of the establishment are solid trustworthy blokes that we can depend on. We’ve taken back control. Woo Hoo, we’re a sovereign nation again. The regaining of the Empire is surely just around the corner.

God bless you sir for I do believe you are right. I shall burn my EU flag duvet and Guy Verhofstadt poster AT. ONCE! I shall sleep on the floor to teach myself the error of my ways.
