Bretonside coach station/Lorry park Plymouth closed down

Just got here tonight to see signs saying that the coach station shut down as of the 7th September this year as they have moved to a new place and truck parking is now at the City Bus depot wherever that is.
Barriers are still up so can still park up there as I have tonight also for free instead of paying £6 due to the payment machines no longer there  Don’t know how long it will be until they put some sort of barriers up but the landlord in the pub next to the station says they are hopeing to redevelop it in the next year so hopefully folk will still be able to park up there for a little while yet as its a great spot bang in the centre of Plymouth and about 5 min walk to the Barbican and its pubs, takeaways and restaurants.

I bet it’ll be flats or more shops soon then !

The city bus depot is in mile house area not the best area in town

Is it a taxi ride away from City Centre? Always parked here when down this way be a pain in the arse if it’s a fiver taxi fare each way and say £15 to park at the new spot.

I’d sooner get a taxi than share a bus with some of the dregs of society that tend to use them at night if you get what I’m saying

Is there a Morrisons near there as well ? As there used to be a Safeway near there but did Morrisons take it over ?

Just heard yesterday my old home The Royal Citadel also closing down the, home to 29 Cdo Reg’t for over 50 years, a lot of guys serving and veterans gutted. Sign of the times mate. As for the parking in Plymouth, what about millbay docks? Maybe also building more yuppie flats no one can afford, great.
