Bit of a long shot, does anyone remember Brekkes Transport Ltd owned and based at Brekkes Seafoods, Brighton Street, Hull
They ran a tidy mixed fleet of rigid’s and artic’s and ran on the continent regularly.
I knew a few of the drivers but struggle to recall there names, only one I can think of was known as big Dave and drove an american car
I met the owner of Brekkes once Mr Lovell, and what an arrogant fat pig he was, called everyone Boy, even the old guy who fuelled the trucks up he was
30 years older than him ! He was that big the rumour was the mercedes car he had at the time the floor and seat was reinforced to hold his weight.
The fitters were a good bunch and would not work on anything that was not british they called merc’s Hitlers revenge
If anyone can recall names of the drivers that would be great and better still any pictures ? I have checked on the internet and can find nothing.
