Breathalysers in France

As for speed detectors they are prohibited in France for long time now and I can not see anything wrong about it.

It is simple to turn off the camera alerts on a TomTom. Full instructions on the website. If you have any other kind, that is your fault

Did I say I use any ? :unamused:
I even do not have one (tt or camera detector ) I do not need it all I need is Road atlas for Europe and my eyes to read road signs. The same aplies here in UK. If i need to know where the place is I use map or Google map check where it is and drive there.
No sat nav needed.

Pardon me for breathing, it was meant as a helpful hint to anyone worried about going to France on holiday or in a lorry for the first time. The media have been scaremongering about sat navs and camera positions.

I simply quoted your post because you were already talking about the subject

No worries

Afternoon gents
I’m going via France/Belgium/Luxembourg to Germany shortly so did some homework.
Breathlyser, should be carried after 1st July, a slap on the wrists if you’re caught before 1st November, 11 yoyo fine after that date
If you’re in a commercial vehicle then it needs to be a 0.02 type, 0.05 type for car peoples
Sat navs should not have camera locations in them
The Frenchies are taking down the camera warning signs and hiding more cameras
But the fuel is cheaper…
Cheers
Paul

A French Norbert Dentressangle driver told me the Gendarmes can not go inside the cab to check the sat nav settings,he can stand on the steps when they ask for a tacho/cmr check,so how do they fine you for the sat nav settings,if you turn it off when get pulled?

There does seem to be several versions of what the French police can do regarding satnavs, including not being able to view the POI’s inc (speed cameras) if the device is switched off

Alternatively, you can just avoid France in future.

I was NOT impressed yesterday by just how expensive everything is there - despite it all being depressed and run down.

I’m speaking compared to last time I went there, so no jibes about “France is always like that” please!

I reckon the Euro needs to be devalued 60% or so to get everyone back on track. :grimacing:

Search warrant from the local judge to enter the cab?

Morning guys and girls
Before I drove through France last week, I bought a kit from Halfrauds. £4.99
Next week I have a hire car for a couple of days from Toulouse.
This may be a simple question, does the car hire company provide the breathalyser kits or do you have to take your own?
Cheers
Paul

take your own
