Breaks between driving and non-driving jobs

Hi all,

Just a quick question as I can’t find a clear answer in the guidance… Would the below be legal? Thinking ahead on a possible problem I might face.

Work in a HGV driving job for 15 hours starting Sunday at 10am (finishing at 1am on Monday). Then work at 8am on the Monday in a non-driving job (0800 - 1630. I guess it’s not legal as it’s only 7 hours continuous rest in a 24 hour period but not sure how this applies to then working in a non-driving job.

It’s not really a situation I want to get into, but with my fortnightly Sunday agency work becoming a bit more sporadic at the moment, I wondered what the limits were.

Cheers!

The law states you MUST have at least 9 hours rest within the 24 hours from when your driving job started so only 7 is not legal

Luckily your non driving job doesn’t come with a tacho. [emoji6][emoji6][emoji6]
