hi, guys
guess i,ve been lucky so far but i finaly had a big break down last night in slough, altanater packed up, fitter came out and disconnected the battery and done his job, so with all the power off the tacho,s gone dead untill the power ressumes, does the tacho need to go to the work shop for utc time calibration or does it have its own built in power supply to allow for things like this
limeyphil:
keep a copy of the fitters paperwork for about 28 days, this will show vosa why the printout shows a power interuption.
I had a unit that had to have new batteries fitted out on the road and I had an infringement for interuption to power supply but got it overturned and at the time I did a print out explaining it all.

that’s it, as long as you can show a good enough reason, that’s all you need to do.
happyweetrucker:
Digital Tachographs have a battery built in
I dont know how long it lasts for
why dont you check UTC time and see?
Just a thought
I remember reading somewhere that the internal back up battery in a digi tacho lasts for about a year when its disconnected from its normal power supply.
