I have been watching a new program about recovery in Canada, its on a mountain road that has breathtaking scenery, but in winter, thats another story, anyway its about a company who has to keep this mountain road clear, so with lots of snow, ice,fog, there are multiple accidents, so these have to be cleared to keep the road open, trucks losing their load, trailers jack knifing, rigs going over the edge. etc,etc, its normally on at 8pm sundays, but i`ve been doing catch up, and its an eye opener, not a job for the faint hearted, they found a body under the chassis of one outfit, and the boss had his 16yr old son with him on that one.
He bought a new rig, that cost 3/4 of a million dollars, it was late being delivered, so went to pick it up himself, just before xmas, ending up with his missus not being very happy cos he told her he might not be back in time, anyway, it wasnt made to the specifications asked for, but ended up at precisely the right length, 41 metres, that worried him a bit, cos it wouldnt be allowed back into canada if it was half an inch longer, he managed to pick it up though, but 5kms down the road, he had to tape the side step back on, cos it fell off, wasnt very happy. all in all, a very entertaining program, cant wait for the next one.
