Brakes bros bristol

You could try Hovis their always on the look out.
One thing I always ask at interviews is why the jobs become available. And why do the jobs regularly pop up …,

Not driver related, but I know a lad who works in their warehouse at Grantham and they make them wear headsets that tell them when it’s time for their break and when it’s time to come back.

The headsets will be for voice picking. It’s normal in a workplace where you work with other people to have breaks at predetermined times, it would seem logical to have that built into the the picking system which allocates the work. I doubt they have to sit in the canteen with the headset on.

The turnover of drivers at the above mentioned companies must be unbelievably high and cost a fortune in recruitment and training etc

You would have thought they would have addressed the issues and offer better terms for there drivers

Ive done the bins fo May Gurney and Biffa on agency and have worked for Brakes on nights preferred it at brakes. I used to work on nights for Brakes so I cant really comment on the day work hard graft as I can gather but the depot is alright a good atmosphere with the staff discounted food if you catch it at the right time.

I know Farmfoods are always taking on news if you gota class 1 licence they have a notice up in the canteen like Brakes will start you from scratch but there is a high turnover of staff

I did days on class 2 and nights on class 1. It’s like comparing apples with oranges. Class 2 work is amongst the worst in the industry, while the class 1 nights is still, 14 years on, the best gig I’ve ever had.

Way back when I did my work experience at a warehouse, there was one lad I was following who kept saying “Hitler sleep”. When I asked him what he was on about, he said he had managed to rename the computer connected to his ear piece to Hitler and he was telling it to switch off!
