Brake test with a difference

I was heading down the a41 yesterday, fortunately empty, just approaching the Hemel Hempstead turn off, when a motorcyclist came flying up the outside, cut in front, braked hard, then shot off at the exit. Luckily braked in time, but God knows what was going through his mind (apart from my front grille if I hadn’t been paying attention!)

To him, he’s timed it just right but he won’t of thought about the fright he give you or the fact that you may of been “distracted” by something else.

Hmmm maybe he almost missed his exit.
Not an excuse but if I posted everytime a lorry driver or a car driver made a mistake I would be on here aa much as eager beaver. :unamused:

Did the biker have a helmet on Scaniason?

I was curious because our resident perfect driver usually rides motorcycles without one. Actually, thinking about it, Albion IS a helmet so technically he is ok.

No doubt that was the case, but surely the safer thing would have been to think - ‘bloody great lorry, go to next one and turn around’.

Totally agree that would have been best but you know what some drivers/riders are like.
No time. No patience and brain in neutral.

So true. Just to redress the balance, I had an Irish registered Volvo sitting about 4’ off my rear today on the m11, cruising at 90k. Didn’t dare touch the brakes to put the lights on, so slowly reduced the cruise by 1k at a time over the next mile or so. Finally, at 80k he came charging past, inviting me for a coffee. Got to the m25 1/2 hour later, and he was still only about 200 yards in front, despite continually charging in and out of the lanes, forcing cars to anchor up.

As you say, every sort of vehicle on the roads has ■■■■■ driving some of them.

Yep clowns on the road and clowns on here.
They seem to have breeded in great numbers over the past few years.
Thank goodness there are some professionals left.
Everything has gone down hill recently including the childish content of some new posters who repeatedly break the rules.

that’s unfair- if I remember correctly he only rode his motorcycle without a bash hat because he couldn’t afford one what with the hp payments and petrol for the bike…
