No problem at all mate, half the people that are on the roads haven’t even got a brain so you should be ok.

The first thing is to tell them that your having a brain transplant, in order to compete with the Brussels beaurocracy, in order to earn a living.

Seriously, i am sorry to hear of your problem, and wish you well with your operation and general health. I am no expert, but, i would check on the DVLA website, to see what conditions affect your right to a licence. I would assume that once the operation is compete, your doctors would be able to tell you about your entitlement to drive. You could also write to the medical department at swansea, to clarify your concerns. I wish you all the best, and keep us tuned in .

Your Consultant at the hospital will be your best friend at helping get it back, unless they decide its a NO , then you are screwed, but unfortunately for the right reasons.
Most are human …my other half is a Spinal consultant and she tells me she regularly has to write letters for patients to get them back on the road.
And specialists like these carry a lot of weight in the decision process .

Good luck , hope it goes well.

get to the job centre and ask them about ESA (employment and support allowance) its like the dole for the long term sick, you might get more than the dole too!

honestly mate its better than a kick in the nuts!

the trick with the DVLA is, keep them informed… ask for copies of any letters/notes ETC being passed around regarding your condition, copy them and send them to DVLA Medical department. ask the specialists for a estimated time frame and full details in writing of your treatment, send this to them aswell!

honestly, it sounds like a ball ache but you need to FIGHT for your licence, and this is the only way to do it!

Yer cheers mate,im absolutely gutted.I want to work but cant,i have friends who love being on the dole,i dont know how they can stand it.I like the fact i graft hard for my dosh.Cant stand the fact im gona have to try and get handouts off the government :frowning:

You could just have your whole brain removed and go and work for ( insert company/institution/government body/dcpc trainer of your choice)

Think of it as a tax rebate, i did that and it made it a whole lot easier!

Some people have had no problems getting the licence back after an all clear, Some have had to jump through hoops, It looks like who’s dealing with it on that day. Just keep on at them when the time comes.

The whole system is crackers though.
My mates aunty was a serious alchoholic. They didn’t take her licence off her, She got a motorbility car with the insurance fully paid, She couldn’t get normal insurance like the rest of us as no one would touch her. She was constantly ■■■■■■ with no intention of wanting to recover, You have been diagnosed and will probably make a 100% recovery, Yet you have no licence. :unamused:

doesn’t make sense does it,i’ll never understand the system in this country

well, finally getting into hospital to get sorted on the 12th feb, hopefully get my licence back soon after

good luck pal, fingers crossed for you :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

A full frontal labotomy :unamused: is usually required to gain access to LGV driver suitability – fret not :grimacing:
:arrow_right: I would prefer a full bottom sat on me than a full frontal labotomy, though i fear it may be a little too late in my case. :sunglasses: :bulb:

Seriously , Hope all works out for you dude, these things are sent to try us. Speak with your consultant and get their advice.

trux:
A full frontal labotomy .

I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!

Good luck fella.
