Bradford hauliers

I Les that is a star photo of the con house the one loading in front of the 8 wheeler
looks like is mates loading the trailer, while i was at crow there was a bad
accident involving two of crows drives ■■■■ Turpin was loading on the right
hand side and Arthur Rawlings was loading opposite on the left,when a bale
that ■■■■ was loading came out the hooks hitting ■■■■ on the back and bounsing
of down and hitting Arthur who was roping up and knocking under the body,
hitting his head on the chassis. He was in a bad way, he was of work for a long
time and when he came back to work he was not the man he was which was
shame,i think ■■■■ was of about a month of work.

Hi Dave, yes i was always wary of the bagging ripping, no health and safety back then. Les.

No idea mate, when i started work in 1962 on the spanners quite a few of the drivers had worked there, good job back in the day don’t remember any complaints. Les.

One of those Fodens had a Gardner 320 , Joe Greenhough told me they couldnt make it pull so they had it tuned to 350 and it made no difference i had a 320 which pulled like a train . Never liked the CF
