Hi Dave, yes the green light was for rescue and fitted because a lorry broke down, before motorways and mobile phones and other B D A lorries just went by in the dark not knowing it was one of there own, or so the tale is told, good place to work back in the day. Les.

BDA were a company who offered my dad a job but for some reason he never took it. Did you mechanic on the solid tyred motors Les when you first started I wonder who was driving the Bakers Foden it doesn’t look clean enough to be Joes, TC always had his number plate in the window , could it be no neck ■■?

How old do you think i am, solid tyres, we had an Albion side valve petrol with a starting handle at Smith Parkinson and Cole, am I real’y that old, don’t know who the Bakers driver would be. Les.

Hell Les where did you find those , the last one is the photo my grandad had on his wall there was a story behind it (not the wall the photo) but i can’t remember . My dad would have loved to have seen those , the OAK 879 rings a bell but i’m not sure why , hope i’m not coming down with something
Les there’s a couple of photos of Tillotsons on Preston St in the latest Vintage Roadscene magazine .I think they date from 1959 but there’s a few AECs outside one being an A One Mercury
