Bowleaze Haulage - Plymouth

Its a long shot but can anyone from the west country remember Bowleaze haulage (tippers) from Catte-Down, Plymouth during the '70s?..I vaguely remember seeing their 6 wheel Reiver tipper from school days ('79)

What happened to them, swallowed up by another firm or gone out of business?

just dragged this up again, just on the off-chance someone might know…

Bowleaze haulage went out of business sometime in the early to mid 90’s, I used to have dealings with the firm while working in the parts department of the Leyland DAF main dealers for Devon during the late 80’s, at the time they ran a few DAF 2300 6 wheel tippers, and I seem to recall a few Leyland Freighter and Constructor tippers, a Seddon Atkinson tipper with an upright exhaust system giving a noisey Jake brake! And some tractor units and low loader trailers used for moving plant around.

Brian ‘Digger’ Daw was the owner of the business, and what a character he is! the first time I met him was when he called in to collect some parts and grabbed the parts manager by the ‘family jewels’! I think he’s still around, in fact I did bump into him at one of my local pubs about 2 years ago.

i never met any of the team only remember the red trucks travelling past the school, which, at that time was far more interesting than maths
