A lesson to all of us really are a few seconds saved ever worth it?. It makes no difference really if the story’s about a cyclist, car driver, or truck driver that out come could of been alot worse by the sounds of it.
I was stopped at a zebra crossing in Exeter yesterday for a woman to cross when a cyclist came bombing down the hill on the other side undertaking 2 cars that had also stopped. He sped right onto the crossing and just laughed at the poor woman he nearly knocked flying. I would have pushed the ■■■■ off if I’d been on the crossing.

I bet we didn’t have any posts on the 7 motorists who killed pedestrians on zebra crossings in 2012 on TNUK did we?
I haven’t seen the 2013 figures yet.
That true, but there have been plenty in the past about hit and run drivers, drunk drivers and impatient drivers.
I agree with karl86 the story makes no difference regardless of what the vehicle is, except it could have been a lot worse if it had been anything larger than a bike.

why would we? other motorist don’t come on here posting crap about how we shouldn’t be on the road and what rights they’ve got preaching to us. I’m pleased a little girl is critically ill so you you can make a pointless post on a TRUCK forum and get one up on the HGV’s if you don’t like trucks or truck drivers, surrender your licence(if you have one your icon under your name sums most of it up)
if you’ve got such a problem don’t log onto TRUCK NET the clue is in the name what the forum is about. Rather then posting your troll crap on here. unfortunately though you seem to get a kick out of it. Guessing around 6pm your other cyclist buddy’s are all going to log on and back you up and explain to me why I shouldn’t have a driving licence
Justice to the cyclist hope this make more people aware that more needs to be done to police them
I realise I’m early but I’m off today & I will be out at 6 so I will put my tuppence worth in now.
I’m thinking his point is, and I’m guessing here, I don’t know the chap, why post on a trucking forum what happens to a cyclist when nobody posts on here what happens when trucks do the very same thing, the incident has no trucking content whatsoever. It happens frequently on here.
As for him coming on here, well it’s a public forum, whose to say that anyone on here is what they say they are, or do what they say they do.
Hell fire I thought my account had been hacked when I clicked that link. I can’t remember starting that thread, and folks don’t think I see both sides.
It is more newsworthy when a cyclist hurts someone else, though not quite so uncommon as “man bites dog”. Still, the guy got what he deserved; if only a little sense and patience had prevailed. Nobody’s mentioned number plates for pushbikes, so it might have been more difficult to track him down had he not handed himself in, not that that act, pleading guilty and apparent contrition have saved him from a reasonable sentence. Though a keen cyclist myself, I will try not to stop (when driving) for someone who is about to cycle off a pavement across a zebra crossing unless a foot goes to ground; it is they who were and are in the wrong. Also I would like to accidentally stick my umbrella into the spokes of a cyclist who goes through a red light or across a zebra crossing with me on it - again they deserve it, but I like my brolly and haven’t the nerve to do it anyway. Perhaps it would be better to walk with it pointing at their chest, like a lance, but that would be a bit blatant. As ever, all these offensive actions give everyone in the group a bad name.
Are you serious? You think this guy got off lightly but you’re happy to do something similar? I’d like to see you try to get away with the defence of “he didn’t put his foot on the crossing so I thought it would be ok to run him over”
I’ve read some drivel on here before but this is priceless.

Isn’t it, ■■■■■■■ hell next time someone approaches a zebra crossing I won’t stop ill run the ■■■■■■■ over its not my fault they never placed a foot on the crossing I was unsure of their intentions so just carried on. Seriously some one isn’t going to put a foot on a crossing when some ■■■■ on a bike, car, lorry, bus and anything else with wheels won’t stop because they don’t need to if your foots not on the crossing they’ll be to bloody scared to put a foot down they’ll be stood there forever. What absolute tool doesn’t approach a crossing with caution or heaven forbid stop because its obvious the person walking towards it is planning on using it. What a load of ■■■■.

He should have got longer, if it had been any other form of vehicle that hit her and ‘run’ they would have been locked up for years and years not 12months.
Out of interest the bike you use, how did it get to the shop where you brought it from? I assume that from your aviator you ensure everything you purchase has been nowhere near a HGV.
Have you actually read this thread, and seen who first posted about this in November.
Who have you seen somebody you presume is solely and cyclist a decided to vent you frustrations towards that poster, without actually absorbing what is actually being discussed?
If avatars are true reflections on actual posters then we have actual dancing bears, smoking monkeys and tramps on park benches posting on TNUK.
