Boots (feet not chemists)

I remember a wee while back, and im sure it comes up a lot, but there was a topic on which boots and people were listing their favourites. I generally just buy budget £20ers at the most.

But the weather seems to be more and more unpredictable and im on everything from muck and grass to tarmac. Im looking for a decent boot that will keep my feet dry, but not a fan of the over the trousers riggers look. Also they have to be black or dark due to my uniform. Anyone got any suggestions?

ardmoor.co.uk/brands/hoggs-o … oggs-boots got a pair of hogg riggers at the moment but gave a look on there see if anything takes your fancy… dont the company have to supply you with boots tho due to health and safety?

Dewalt are good and reasonably priced. I currently have jcb dealer boots and they are almost a year old and still got lots of life in them.

Any ideas where I can get a pair of slip on work boots with padded uppers - I find ordinary ones cut into my shins or calves

im on dewalts just now but they are a few years old so ok for normal days, but we have flash floods just now and they are hopeless in that. I can be supplied with boots but they are like a pair of binbags with a toecap, no support, no breathing in them either. Or we can get rebated a certain amount with receipt

Trainers, far more comfy than any boot.

have a look at them hoggs i find them great and they are water proof my pairs a bit heavy but i have the rigger… huricane boot… had a pair of the ankle boot too and they were great… couldnt fault them

I use Dr Marten’s…amazingly comfortable and waterproof. About forty quid I think they were.

Sports Direct always have black steel toe boots going for about £25 quid. Cant fault them, really comfy and tend to last about 6 months before they start getting knackered which aint bad given im on the back of the wagon a fair bit and they get a lot of stick.

Super Hampton hard to beat!

I second that
DM’s are the most comfortable boots you can get, I have worn them since the early 70’s, tried others of every type but insist on them. Here in the USA they are very expensive, just a regular pair of DM work shoes runs well over $100 and to get the next pair of boots means me travelling 80 miles to Albany NY for a pair thats gonna cost me about $150.00 … Well worth it though.
