If it was me would go for the DAF purely for the smaller trailer why drag an extra 15ft round when you don’t have to,just watch the trailer on the reverse as smaller trailers will turn quicker.
Shame you can’t swop for the FH with the smaller trailer as the Volvo has the better gearbox.
I very much doubt if the trailer actually is 30’. The overall length of the outfit has to be a minimum of 14.5 metres. 30’ is less than 10 so I think it would struggle to make the length.
Worth checking if the choice is that critical to you.
But surely you also need to compare pass rates, instructor qualifications, centre facilities, contingency cover in event of breakdown. A poor instructor in a new truck is a waste of your time and money. A great instructor, with good facilities, in a new truck is a brilliant combination. Go check reversing facilities for a start.
