I would have been leaving today on Sun premium rate, and getting paid a night out, 9 off starting refreshed. Call me old fashioned but having to get out of bed just after midnight to start at 0.130 and driving with eyes stuck out like bulldog’s ■■■■■■■■, comes under the heading of ‘Unreasonable’

I normally do this run on a Friday but I was in Wales and no-one else can fit under the carpark where the rear door is located. I would of ran out today but I’ve had things I needed to attend to which mean’t I couldn’t. Oh well, I’ll be in bed in an hour or two. Doesn’t help that I live an hour away from my work yard.

I would never do this myself (unless it really benefited me) but why not kip in the truck in the yard gain another hour’s kip. Don’t tell your guvnor or he will plan you for it next time…you know what they’re like.

Not allowed. Dock security would go mad if they found us kipping on dock property.
Eyes stuck out like a bulldogs bollox, that is funny and so true.
Don’t forget the hallucinations when night driving, black Panthers crossing the road, I once hallucinated a German Luftwaffe pilot hanging from the trees from a white silk parachute.
And when having a quick nap on the bunk, you wake up freaking out, and jump in the seat to apply the brakes.
A lorry had parked up in front of you while asleep, you think you are going to drive in to the back of it, even though you are both stationary.

Yeh done all of them, a guy walking a dog across the M6 that disappeared after I locked up to avoid him was mine, after a 25 hr shift in the 80s
Never seen a Luftwaffe pilot though tobes here’s a few questions.
How did you know he was Luftwaffe, he could have been RAF, or he may have been a navigator, …he could even have been a German spy.
Was this in the 40s when you were just a lad ,…
Am I reading too much into this
I hope I was not seeing the Red Baron, that pilot was top of his game.
