I’ve started getting parts of threads underlined and written in blue. Very pretty but wondered why? Anyone else had this or is the blue bug singling me out for special treatment?!?

Have you installed anything that offered you some sort of toolbar that you didn’t uncheck? Tend to find it’s stuff like that.
It’s an artefact of the thread-tracing software used by GCHQ and Special Branch to track suspicious online conversations. You’ll probably find a plain white van parked somewhere near the telephone junction box at the end of your road, and if you watch really closely you’ll also see anonymous looking dark coloured saloon cars following you when you drive to work etc - they can be easy to spot as there are usually at least two adult occupants.
Nothing to worry about (only an issue if you have Something To Hide).

Clear your cookies and cache in your browser Peter and run a malware program.

It sounds like you’ve accidentally installed an adware toolbar.
Easy enough to get rid of though how to depends on what operating system and what software you use to access internet?
Sorted. All blue lines gone. Grand-daughter not required (but if she hadn’t been downloading games earlier it may have been a different story!). Not sure what I did, but it’s ok now.
