Bloody hell!

Glad there were no fatalities.

Reading between the lines it sounds like the driver of the car was one of our blue rinser’s that drive around at 15-20mph blissfully unaware of every and any thing else on the road, some even are too blind to see parked cars and street furniture, and should not be behind the wheel of a car,

20 mph is the limit covering nearly all of Bristol . More likely the vehicle going faster caused the crash looking by where and how it ended up …

That would depend on the definition of ‘caused’ and the exact circumstances.Assuming the car pulled out from the right in font of the ambulance for example, based on the idea that nothing should be travelling over 20 or 30 mph and especially if applying the same logic in the case of emergency vehicles responding, that doesn’t/shouldn’t make it the ambulance driver’s fault. At least unless everyone is happy to lose people through slow response times based on the idea of applying the speed limit at all times to emergency vehicles. :unamused:

The fact is the continuous dumbing down of the speed environment is just creating an environment of ever dumber road users who are unsafe at any speed. To the point where many or most would never have survived in the environment applying in the 1970’s at least.

Seeing as this accident happened in St Albans, what the ■■■■ has your comment got to do with anything?

Here’s a little snippet of information for you. If you see blue lights or hear sirens, GET OUT OF THE ■■■■■■■ WAY!

reading between the lines?

A man, thought to be in his 50s

hardly elderly or doddering or even blue rinse brigade I would have thought. Always, of course, reading between the lines and deciding he was the driver.

Or possibly stay where you are and don’t move depending on circumstances. :bulb:

It looks like it might have been hit on the nearside from the left and the ambulance driver went for the nearside to prevent full on side impact. In which case the passenger would probably be expected to have more serious injuries than the driver.

Unless it means going into a bus lane in Hull.
