I was doing a delivery today and my access was blocked for a good 20 mins so I had to just sit and wait, so I thought I’d ask what weird or wonderful things have stopped you in your tracks ( without blaming car drivers)
sheep on the A19 not so long ago at night near sunderland. the police were not happy and all i could do was laugh at the poor sods. it was during pub opening times so it probably made a nice change chasing sheep wandering around on the road instead of drunks doing the same thing

This is what held me up…

Which site were you at? I used to deliver the exchange engines for the Sea Kings.
Someone refused to move there car once i’d tipped in an expensive gated housing estate because they were ■■■■■■ off because of all the building work. Was stuck there for probably an hour and half.

I think at that point it’s perfectly acceptable to ■■■■ up your wheel or ■■■■ in a close by hedge.

I go to bases all over the country but that was at wattisham airfield nr Ipswich.
Thanks for replying. All those aprons look the same, I used to go to loads of them. The engineers are fabulous and always offered a brew and a biccie or three.
Had a parked on the corner of a street I needed to get down ask the lady in the council office to move it she refused saying it was taxed so call the coppers she told them the same so they towed it but cost me 2 hours
I got blocked in a small industrial estate in Watford once, a copper came along and told me it was okay to hit the car with trailer if i wanted (car was on double yellows) but would have damaged trailer so i sat and waited

I must admit I never go short of a cuppa when I go to any of the bases, the lads are always up for a laugh too.
Delivered to a small industrial estate - had to back out of the company’s yard (no turning space) - was just about to reverse it, saw a forklift in my mirrors starting to stack pallets in the road right behind my truck (don’t know what was in the boxes on the pallets).
Got out & asked the Forkie what he was doing as I needed to back out - he said he was stacking ready for their truck to come by for the 3am collection - I pointed out it was only 2.10am. He said if they don’t have the load ready, the driver gets ■■■■■■ and he refuses to reverse in or out of their yard as it’s “too tight” so they load him in the road.
Asked him to move the pallet he had put behind the truck so I could get out - refused as he was busy and it had to be ready, didn’t i mind waiting til their truck comes in & gets loaded!! Politely asked again, he ignored me & drove off.
So did I… don’t know what was in the those boxes, but they made a lovely crunching sound as my wheels rolled over them, having sent them flying with the back-end.
Forkie came out screaming, got his boss out - came running up to the cab yelling about the pallet… “what pallet…?” I asked “what ■■■■ would stack a load of pallets behind a reversing truck…?”
