Blinged up Buses

I’ve started seeing buses wearing great big Griffins on them, I wonder if the drivers will be polishing their wheels at the bus stations and fitting frilly curtains to the windows.

They seem to have a few running around Sudbury, actually I think they look quite good.

How long till the, “bet the driver pays the boss £50 a week to drive the one with alloys” brigade turns up.

Reay’s coaches up here have some interesting light work on some of the long coaches, LEDs on that would make some of the Scania’s on the M6 very jealous.

Tom beeston pays decent money. constable coaches do not actually exist any more its all been absorbed back into beestons coaches. he treats the drivers with respect also.

Just looks like a normal bus to me

The Omnicitys have air vents inside in the shape of the Scania badge. Quite sad I noticed this, but a Stagecoach London Omnicity isn’t the most thrilling place to be!

Our new Irizars have shiny alloys, as do our 2 09 Volvos and the 60 plate Plaxton Elite, depends on the drivers how shiny they are
Me, im back in the oldest coach of the fleet - an 07 Plaxton :sunglasses:
Scania, belive it or not make half decent coaches, never thought id say that :open_mouth:

Off topic, but given how small those wheels appear given the height of the bus, how easy is a bus to roll? :grimacing:

And this is some hipster one (the one on the left):

I never saw RHD Autosan bus before, and after I’ve saw this one

Years ago in the late 70’s we went to an open day at Aldenham, and you could get on the bus on the tilt table. 28 degrees it goes over to, that’s a long way when you are on the top deck.

back home in london, the buses normally have the metal bars at top front purely for the branches to stop them damaging the bus

I saw a coach that said Merry xmas on the elctronic board the other night … i kid you not

Ive got a bus license , do you guys ever get the urge to frighten the ■■■■ out of your passengers , and how often do you have to stop and empty the toilets when you have 60 oaps p1$$1ng in the karsi

Its the inside that needs protecting from the vandals.

You’d never be allowed inside nowadays :open_mouth: , but question is, why have a tilt table? Did they need to test every vehicle for some reason??

Dunno why they needed it but they used sandbags to simulate a load of passengers (except on the open day) In those days they were still lifting the bodies off the chassis at the works there with a huge gantry traverser crane. Maybe it was part of the test before they were passed fit for use again.

I can only remember going on the bus and seeing the huge works with a bus body suspended from the crane not the finer details. But I was about 5 so that’s my excuse!
