Blatant discrimination against Caucasian British males

Just thought I’d put this one out there as I’m thinking of taking it further but just wondered if anyone can advise/ has experienced similar issues.

Basically I drive for the in- house agency of a Tesco distribution centre. I left a permanent job in order to get into Tesco permanently as, unless they are desperate, the agency route is the only way in. Been here 4 months now with no infringements, accidents, good score etc, no late abd haven’t gone sick etc etc. Recently they put 6 permanent jobs on Indeed so I, along with a number of other white British drivers applied. Long story short, everyone from minority races have been offered interviews - even a black mate of mine who works for a completely different company. Myself and the other Caucasian Brits have just been completely ignored - no interview, nothing.

I understand that Tesco have targets to hit if they are deemed - by some organisation (of which i would love to know who/ what this is?) To be lacking in drivers from minority groups and therefore unless they are desperate just blatantly discriminate against Caucasian male brits.

I don’t to go down the discrimination in the work place route, I just want to find out who is behind all this BS and maybe i dunno so something about it.

dont worry you will be asked to train them in a few weeks.

the trouble is if they are imports tesco can get away with all sorts of fiddles from paying less ni and tax and paying the drivers less. this isnt tescos fault its the governments

I’ve no idea how Tesco operate but I imagine that like many large companies they may adhere to this DEI bullcrap, so possibly need to make up their foreign quota.

Apparently In this modern world every company needs to employ their quota of black brown gay or transgender people so they won’t be seen as discriminating against minority groups, we white straight Brits are not a minority so we don’t matter :frowning:

On the other hand it could just be that you’re wrong or just not suitable

So what’s new?
Tokenism and diversity rule the roost in Labour’s Britain.
As an ex employer I would not hesitate to employ a driver from any ethnic minority if he was suitable for the job…
I know it’s the norm nowadays, but I had a girl driving for me 30+ years ago…because she was a good driver, despite accusations of ‘special favours’ from guys I turned away.
Employing people BECAUSE they are a certain ethnicity or group is something else, also an insult to the driver involved.

Also some may go straight back to RDC instead of snoozing in a lay by just before Milton interchange on the A34 hanging the jon=b out so they don’t get a second run

What happened to the best person for the job ie the one that can actually do the job. I’ve applied all over for a job and i dont even get a reply

A lot of job adverts are just a formality to keep in with rules.
A lot of the time the job is boxed off internally before it’s even advertised.

I’d agree with the above. Places these days like so show there inclusive etc.
Recruite accordingly to make themselves look good etc etc.
Gone are the days of best person most experienced for the job

As for bringing a claim for discrimination you have no chance of proving it or even winning.
However if you was of ethnic minority.
(Why they still say minority duno when there the majority,)
Either way if you was ethnic minority brought a claim your being discriminated against a white man yours probably win .
But other way round you have no chance.
Just sad way things are these days

To be fair blatant discrimination against road transport in favour of rail says it all.Obviously no such problems and issues for train drivers.

WTF has road vs rail got to do with it

Here is a link to show some of what is and is not legal. NB the reference to Cheshuire Police.Positive action in the workplace - GOV.UK

Do not take one person’s opinion of what is happening to be fully factual.

Quotas are illegal. Be careful what anyone is accusing others of.

No doubt.
So how come the Police do it?
The RAF was reported a couple of years ago to be doing it.
It’s like everything else in the real world, (or at least most things) …Legal or not there are always loopholes, scams, and schemes to get around it.

I think the ‘‘scheme’’ (some would say ‘scam’) in thrse situations is known as tokenism and explained by those who perpetrate it as… ‘Diversity’ .
Diversity over qualification and ability to boot.

Was something ages ago about more ethnic people should be interviewed for jobs in football management as there’s not enough of them in top jobs.
and they feel it’s a way to get them in.
Why can’t they go down same route. As every other manager.
There come a point one day when a club is looking and they go we can have jugen klop or an unknown from an ethical background and they choose the later because it makes them look good and inclusive.
Plus fans don’t care where managers from as long as he’s winning trophies and doing well he could be British or Chinese or African fans don’t care long as there winning

Yep…this is where we get to the ‘positive racism’ territory…if there is such a thing being a paradox in terms.

He is marooned on his own invention

To be fair Tesco had made no secret of its preference for shifting as much of its transport requirements from road to rail as possible.

Not exactly a great career choice for …..truck drivers.

While train drivers generally aren’t employed or recruited by Tesco nor have any issues with recruitment policies.

Again… wtf has that got to do with being black or white  .
